October 5, 201412 yr Sunlight is top 5 on sales alone. Poor Flashlight. #35 on sales and only #47 in the official chart. :(
October 5, 201412 yr Author Ellie Goulding's 'Halcyon' has now reached 100 (!!!) weeks in the top 40 - it initially spent only 7 weeks before dropping out but after four weeks outside the top 40 it re-entered and has remained there ever since (including throughout the entirety of 2013 and 2014 so far). Incredible longevity. It joins 'Our Version Of Events' (105) and '21' (103) as the third album to have 100 weeks in the top 40 this decade to date, it would be quite something if it managed to surpass them. I think its sales are quite significantly below both though of course. Yesss for Lorde (just barely) picking up a 6th top 100 single *.* Pretty much the only thing of interest happening in the 41-100 region this week.
October 5, 201412 yr Great to see kylies tour bringing in a few album sales, good to see the album back in the charts,i hope it will climb again next week.
October 5, 201412 yr Pretty much the only thing of interest happening in the 41-100 region this week. Apart from, of course, "Pompeii" equalling the all-time record by spending a 4th (non consecutive) week at Number 61, joining the following : Alice Cooper - "How You Gonna See Me Now" Lady Gaga - "Paparazzi" Oasis - "Whatever"
October 5, 201412 yr Author Apart from, of course, "Pompeii" equalling the all-time record by spending a 4th (non consecutive) week at Number 61, joining the following : Alice Cooper - "How You Gonna See Me Now" Lady Gaga - "Paparazzi" Oasis - "Whatever" Oh of course, how could I forget :P And on a similar note actually Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive' has now matched the decade-to-date record for weeks in the top 100 (86 weeks to match 'Titanium'). 'Pompeii' and 'A Thousand Years' both now only two weeks behind as well. I believe Imagine Dragons and Bastille have both gained a few top 100 weeks from streaming's inclusion but I don't think the same is true for Christina!
October 5, 201412 yr Author By the way fchd do you have any insight into the following from the chart show thread? On a different subject, someone has to ask so here goes... How many singles have entered at number 75 and gone on to reach number one?
October 5, 201412 yr What an awful Top 3 in singles... I may not be the biggest hater of All About That Bass (it's somehow bearable) but #2 and #3 are just :puke: I don't like when females take the top spots, especially the Americans :(
October 5, 201412 yr I LOVE how massive A Thousand Years has become, I felt like I was the only person who loved it for a while when it first surfaced in 2011!
October 5, 201412 yr Let me guess, you sent it to BJSC and it unfairly DNQd? http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3auq77kuQ1r2cmb9o1_500.gif
October 5, 201412 yr So happy for Sunlight I really thought it would be a lot lower so I'm thrilled! Even though streaming has pushed it out the top 5 :( Awful top 3, I've really gone off the Taylor Swift track now...
October 5, 201412 yr By the way fchd do you have any insight into the following from the chart show thread? Just 2 - "All About That Bass" and Christina Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle" Two started at 74 - Lou Bega's "Mambo No 5" and The Firm's "Star Trekkin'", and 2 at number 73 - Pixie Lott's "Boys And Girls" and "I've Never Been To Me" by Charlene.
October 5, 201412 yr A little chart fact, the last act to jump from 33 to 1 Captain Sensible - Happy Talk (1982) :D
October 5, 201412 yr I'm really pleased both 'Sunlight' and 'Comeback' got higher than I expected! :o I would've liked top 10 for 'Comeback', but I think to get #12 with it is quite respectable especially as the last single pretty much stiffed. Glad to see Kylie re-enter the top 100 albums, was hoping for maybe higher but it's better than a kick in the teeth.
