We like big buts and we cannot lie

After racking up the second highest sales of the year as it rocked 33-1, Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass' seems set to remain at #1 again. Hoping to secure Top 5 placings will be Nicki Minaj with 'Anaconda' and Ella Henderson with 'Glow' - both second singles from their respective upcoming albums - with 'Don't Tell 'Em' by Jeremih and 'Resonance' by LuvBug (a group which former JLS member Marvin is one third of). Elsewhere, Usher's single 'She Came to Give It to You', a third track in the Top 40 that Nicki Minaj makes an appearance on, should debut Top 20 and 'Say You Love Me', which became Jessie Ware's second consecutive Top 40 hit, is looking to climb further up the chart.

We're into October now which means the album release schedule is about to get busier. The biggest contender for #1 seems to be Irish singer Hozier with his self-titled debut, however other new albums such as Sirens by Gorgon City, Our Love by Caribou, Playland by Johnny Marr, Interlude by Jamie Cullum and Lower Than Atlantis' self-titled album are all proving popular this week too. Other new entries could come from Lady Antebellum, Bryan Adams, Tinashe, Ali Campbell, Stevie Nicks, Flying Lotus, Weezer and New Found Glory.

Should be 5 new songs top 10 come first update which really makes me doubt Jessie Ware will be climbing...

Lady antebellum have a new album out :o I like them

Hoping Taylor/Ella definitely top 5 and an all female top 5. Also hopefully Idina can Re-enter on the update tomorrow

Tbh I was just trying to fill space. :P Most activity is happening in or just outside the Top 40 this week.

Fair enough  also really hoping Sirens does well, definitely one of my favourite albums this year so far.

"Say You Love Me" is actually Jessie's second Top 40 hit.

"Tough Love" got to 34 in August. :P

Shows how highly I think of 'Tough Love' if I completely forgot about it! :P

That awful Jeremih track has overtaken Ella on iTunes I really hope she can finish top 4 though, either way its going to be another vile top 3 :(

OMG... new #1 single :drama: I'm not kidding :o

See above update

Number 2 is loooking very possible for Minaj then! Would have been an easy number 1 if she'd had radio support.

May I ask where GRL are?

OK but only maybe for a half a day... AATB will knock him out in 20-25K gap.

#24

Quite a narrow lead at no1. I don't like either songs but suspect meghan may pull ahead later in the week as Minaj is behind on itunes.

Would love 'Anaconda' to be #1 but it's just not going to happen. Great to see it there today though!

It's a shame about the lack of airplay, would've been even bigger with that of course.

No Tinashe in the albums...

Not surprising really - you can see why R1 have the update on a Wednesday; it removes all these manipulated front loaded songs from being as high as they are.

John Legend back in the Top 20, and "Happy" hanging on at #40. Oh the excitement.

For anyone who wants to know where Idina Menzel is... #41. and the Kwabs single #46

Green Day's album is 99p on Google Play and Amazon
