Strong first show. Much better than last year at least. Fleur, Stephankie and Only The Young are my faves. I think they will be the first three to leave though :lol: :(

I LOVE Andrea, he's absolutely adorable AND sings so effortlessly - when you compare to Jake squeezing out those pained vocals, it's a joke they're even competing against one another.

 

otherwise Lauren was great - made me like a song I despise - and I really hope Stephanie gets through, her vocals were a little shaky but I think she's such a star, great image and lovely tone of voice.

The two who should go tomorrow is Overload Generation and Stevi as they were easily the worst I don't think it will be them though :( .

Lol exactly. If Stephanie was a pretty looking boy she'd be "omg amazing!!1!1!" for the twitter fangirls and the judges would say she's a "little popstar". I'm fed up of the double standards when it comes to good looking guys seemingly getting away with basically anything.

Yeah but there is obviously a lot of them, hence the likes of 1D selling a zillion records. I just find it odd how things/artists on here can seem popular when in reality they aren't but then I guess that is what you get when you group similar people together with a common interest.

Watching Jay James on Xtra Factor he is very very camp, even his voice is kind of girly.

I really like Steph, and I think it's a shame she's clearly only there as filler - she's got a nice Aluna Francis type of tone to her. Otherwise I like Fleur, and of course the ridiculous brilliance of Blonde Electra. Lauren is technically a half decent pop star in the making, but I'm so bored of people on this show performing stripped back versions of pop songs.

 

I was hoping Chloe Jasmine would be a bit better - it'd be nice if she could justify inevitably being dragged through about 4 sing-offs. Andrea was technically very good, even though I hate Earth Song, but otherwise it feels like there are just far too many indistinguishable boring white male singers. The guy who did Changing was particularly horrendous.

He makes me melt.

No-one will be surprised but Stephanie was of course my favourite. She is the most obvious popstar in this line-up, looks amazing and has a brilliantly distinctive voice that is perfect for radio. It annoys me that Simon specifically seems to have lost all support for her and that the show has treated her so poorly in terms of airtime (and now one of the worst running order slots too) - I'm not sure what Stephanie has done wrong as she has everything to be a massive success if the producers wanted her to be.

 

Along with Stephanie, I was loving Only The Young! Lauren was great too as were several others. All 5 of my votes have gone to Stephanie but I hope Only the Young will be safe.

 

I think Stephanie and Blonde Electra are unfortunately on lock for 2 of the bottom 3 spaces (and the odds massively agree), and I think Jay will be joining them with that early running order slot and a song that may not be as appealing to his supposed target market. If not Jay then I think Lola, Stevi (Rylan was bottom two in his first week and I could sort of see that happening to Stevi) and Fleur are next in line unfortunately for the former and the latter. I think Stephanie will be going straight home based on her early running order slot (while Strictly was on), but I hope her fanbase is at least big enough to see her get ahead of Blonde Electra - even though I really like them as well. Even then based on the judges comments tonight Stephanie will do no better than take a sing-off situation to deadlock and I can't see her beating anyone else bar Blonde Electra (who will have already been eliminated if this situation was to occur).

 

I hope the bottom 3 will contain Overload Generation, Stereo Kicks and Stevi but that is of course very unlikely.

I think the problem with Stephanie (away from her performance tonight) is that she's just "nice". That might work on the radio but on a show like this you need a bit more than that to warrant survival.

 

I'm sure all her fans on here bar perhaps Ryan wouldn't ever spend money to keep her on the show and so she doesn't really have any chance of progressing much further i don't think.

Out of the serious acts, Stephanie was the worst. She just has a weak annoying voice.

Pretty certain Stephanie will be going tomorrow :(

 

She wasn't great tonight but for some reason I really like her and can imagine her doing well if she somehow makes it through!

Poor song choice though which didn't help.

02.0 Andrea Faustini · not as unbearable as his previous performances, but still wasn't anything special and still do not see the fuss *at all*. Decent song though, I guess? He'll be a waiter in Frankie & Benny's soon enough.

10.0 Jack Walton · FAVOURITE by a landslide, perfect performance, perfect everything really. Can't see anybody topping him at this point, and the song choice was perfect and a refreshing change from all the bland covers we've heard of the song in the past. :wub:

09.5 Jake Quickenden · Beautiful performance. There's still something that's not quite there that he had in 2012, but still <3. Hopefully he's not in any danger tomorrow given he has a fair few supporters on Twitter and he's generated a bit of a fanbase through YouTube, etc. since last appearing.

02.0 Paul Akister · lol what even was this? It's actually put me off listening to 'Ghost'. It's not that he's even *that* irritating (but he is irritating), it's the CONSTANT arguing between the judges about how he shouldn't have been sent home last year. Get the fuck over it, he's here now... unfortunately.

06.0 Chloe Jasmine · Wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting, but I'm still not getting her really. She's a good singer and the performance was good but it was all a bit basic and some of the slurs she does when she's singing are really irritating.

09.0 Lauren Platt · The song is still one of the most annoying in existence, but praise her for actually making it one that can be bared for once. Her voice is really really gorgeous. Needs a bit of work learning how to develop a personality when she's on the stage, but other than that a good performance.

09.0 Lola Saunders · Really not with all of the comments here? Pisses me off to no end when Simon concentrates far more on what the contestants were wearing when they were singing opposed to how good they actually were. Strong vocal, although I suppose that's projected by my love for the song. But yeah, she was really good and I guess she'll come into her own soon enough if she's given a chance, even if it's likely a Laura White situation is on the horizon.

00.0 Stephanie Nala · Why is this bitch even here? Her voice is so so basic, she doesn't have a clue what she's doing and it's very evident she's completely out of her comfort zone without the other three there to support her. I don't even think it's a case of her working on things to overcome nerves or what have you, she just doesn't have a strong voice and probably never will be able to meet the standard of the other contestants. Really hope she's gone tomorrow because she offers NOTHING apart from having a different (albeit beige) voice that stands out a bit. Maybe because the others just don't sound so horrendous?

09.0 Blonde Electra · Not even ashamed to say this was one of my favourite performances of the night. Can genuinely see them being a low-key version of Icona Pop if they're given the chance to release anything in the future. Fun, energetic performance and much to my surprise they actually can sing. :o Definitely looking forward to seeing what else they can do if they survive tomorrow night!

07.5 Only the Young · Sadly not as good as I was anticipating, but they have potential to be amazing so hoping they don't find themselves in any danger. Charlie is SUCH a cutie <3

09.5 Overload Generation · Refuse to call them Overload Generation based on the fact that name is RIDICULOUS. Understand that they *had* to change their name, but no. Literally every fan will still refer to them as Overload anyway. :lol: But yes, not understanding ANY of the judges' comments re. this performance (aside from Louis') - it was really strong, more about their voices if anything. And Simon's shade to Joey was unacceptable. FAVE.

09.0 Stereo Kicks · LOVED this. I think basically anyone covering 'Roar' is gonna get love from me bc it's just such an anthemic-sounding song to sing. Still think they need to be given a longer time slot to accommodate solos for all eight of them though (or at least the majority of them), but this was a strong performance and definitely a good start for them.

08.0 Ben Haenow · Liked this performance a lot. Not a massive fan of him, but he's certainly MUCH better than Jay, and he's hotter and more likeable. Hoping I can start to get behind him a bit because his voice is certainly sounding a lot better than in his auditions.

04.0 Fleur East · She could have done so so much better. 1) a better song choice and 2) it's likely she'll be gone tomorrow so she needed to give it a bit of OOMPH but it all seemed a bit like a wet blanket tonight and like she was just coming along for the ride? Meh. Can take her or leave her but won't miss her.

No problem. I don't post on there but they have interesting topics and I get from reading it a much broader demographic of ages than most forums.

Well, with knowing nothing about who's going to do well (nor do I particularly care to, I was barely paying attention to most of the performances), I shall hope for Only The Young, Blonde Electra, Andrea and Steph to do as well as possible.

 

Shame the latter doesn't seem to be going down well, if she was a guy she would get through to about week 8 with no effort. I think I may have a bit of a crush on her and I don't normally get this with public figures so easy, she's stunning. Singing wise, (you know, the important stuff), she wasn't so bad either, a really pleasant voice that unfortunately isn't going to reach the drama stakes needed to do well here. She could do well in an indie-pop band (can definitely see that Aluna Francis comparison Aled made).

 

Blonde Electra were surprisingly enjoyable, from descriptions I was expecting much worse (plus I can't stop thinking it's Iggy Azalea & Sia up there). Only The Young were good vocally and quite different for this show. Both were infinitely better than the boybands, one of which has literally seemed to have cloned One Direction member for member and were vocally forgettable, and the other one which was vocally dire. OTY and BE won't be Louis' top 2 but that would be my preference by a long shot.

 

Lauren did pretty good with Happy, Andrea gave a very vocally impressive performance and I liked Jack's guitar even though I didn't like his voice. The rest were pretty much forgettable X Factor fodder.
