October 19, 201412 yr 'Shake It Off' is SO catchy but so grating at the same time so I can't really get on board :( Incredible chart-run, though! Yay - 3 weeks for 'All About That Bass' which is quite the jam. I reckon it'll have the most weeks no.1 of the year, as there's not much competition right now!

And 'Shake It Off' getting a deserved top 2 peak! Taylor starting to look like a bit of a new Sash! though, three #2s without a #1 to her name yet. Late reactions to other stuff: amazed to see 'Thinking Out Loud' already at #4, really could be absolutely massive. BOO at 'Ghost' already overtaking 'Glow', I really don't see why the public aren't taking more to 'Glow' :( #20 is a good result for Wilkinson, higher than 'Half Light' despite the streaming addition. And finally YASSS for Pharrell getting that climb to set the longevity record in style *.* (First album chart post way back on page 1 updated with the new peak for 'Thinking Out Loud', probably a couple more updates to do after 7pm).
October 19, 201412 yr "Steal my girl" reminds me of Carly Simon's "Coming around again" and the 1989 UK Eurovision entry by Live Report. Is that weird? It's weird that anyone can remember the UK's 1989 Eurovision entry
October 19, 201412 yr Slaylor Swfit and Meghan Slaynor top 2 so much slayage. Shake It Off is having an amazing chart run anyway, I love big OA/OS runs like this.
October 19, 201412 yr All About That Bass is also still amazing and probably in my top 10 favourite songs this year  I am loving its long run at the top Definitely the best top 2 this year :cheer:
October 19, 201412 yr That run for Shake It Off! Good for her grabbing another #2 hit in the end. So strange how little buzz there is around the 1D song. Even though previous lead/pre-album singles have debuted equivalently or lower, I still feel like there was more talk and anticipation around them.
October 19, 201412 yr Pleasing that something is sticking at the top of the chart for a decent amount of time even if it's a novelty track. Edited October 19, 201412 yr by Eth▲n
October 19, 201412 yr All About That Bass what a juggernaut! Surely gonna be the first 5-weeker (consec) for 6 years?!

Kelly. It was the second single released from his first solo album 12 Play in 1994. The track became a number one single on the United States Billboard Hot 100 (temporarily interrupting the six-week run of Ace of Base's "The Sign"), and it also spent twelve weeks at number one on the US Hot R&B Songs chart as the singer's third #1 R&B hit, becoming the longest-running number-one US. R&B single at that time. The song also reached number eight in the UK charts, following the massive success of his previous single, "She's Got That Vibe" (which was actually a re-release). British house duo Waze & Odyssey produced a bootleg of the track back in 2012, sampling "Push the Feeling On" by Nightcrawlers. The remix will be officially released on 19 October 2014. - Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): Waze & Odyssey 2014 xx Bump & Grind 2014 (Waze & Odyssey Vs. R. Kelly) -NAS- R. October 19, 201412 yr 1D missing the top 2 :D brilliant, what a dull song. I think its embarrassing that even with their fan base they still can't beat a two week old number one or a track that's been top 10 since August

October 19, 201412 yr It doesn't help when you're sampling one of the worst songs ever, but I agree the Nightcrawlers/MK production saves this song...
