Very pleased for Leona, would be fantastic to see it go Top 40 again (or higher!)

Mariah leading the way. I'd love to see 'AIWFCIY' go Top 10 this year. It performed incredibly well on streams last year, so hopefully that will help give it a boost in the charts this year.

This career revival for Tom Odell is great news, as it could mean his second album might be another #1 thus continuing the amusing factoid of Jessie J's albums being the only releases by BRITs Critics' Choice award winners to miss #1 :funky:

Quite surprised at how good a start it's off to, before the advert has even aired on TV - it will at the very least outpeak 'Another Love' and actually could be a #1 contender I think :o

I see The Pogues coming to snatch Mariah's weave ~ Mariah does a lot better on streaming (#1 on the streaming chart last Xmas compared to The Pogues at #6) so I'm not expecting The Pogues to be ahead of her officially at any time this year / ever again, but hopefully they can resume slaying her on the sales chart at least.

 Jessie J

I think the hype for the advert is the highest its ever been, I read somewhere earlier (not sure if its true) that there were more tweets about the advert in the first 3 hours of the reveal year's advert than in the first 24 hours of last year's advert if that makes sense.

It's definitely going to hit iTunes #1 at some point, possibly after The X Factor on Saturday! The hype is just immense.

I know there's massive hype around the advert but I didn't think that'd necessarily translate into massive hype/sales for the song when it's by an almost-forgotten one hit wonder.

Monty saving Odell's career ~

One Direction are about to release 'Ready To Run' the first instant grat from 'FOUR'.

John Lewis didn't do much for Lily Allen's album sadly :(

Not really a good thing but this release can be an exception! Monty.

I do think they helped a bit. Her album might have done even worst without the ezposure back onto the scene it gave her.

Leona Lewis "One More Sleep" to #385.

I am honestly quite shocked, I did not expect it to do so well! :cheer: I really hope Leona promotes it a little, as I think it could have a good shot of going top 10 again if she did.

Still got to #1 though! And I doubt it would have done without 'Somewhere Only We Know' as that was far bigger than the following singles. I would be surprised if Tom Odell managed a decent sized hit single / #1 album with a 'normal' comeback, but this advert is putting his name back out there.

I haven't watched the ad yet but  at that GIF!

John Lewis was a godsend for Lily - the problem with Sheezus was that nobody liked anything she released after.

A great shame, it is her best album imo. Unpopular opinion, I know.

Hard Out Here and URL Badman should have been huge.

(I know you mean the record buying public in general) but I loved Hard Out Here. Should have been huge. :(

I wouldn't say Sheezus was her best but I do love it a lot. The single choices were pretty shoddy though, I'd have done:

1. Somewhere Only We Know

2. Hard Out Here (full release, it did have a radio edit but it never got sent out...)

-- ALBUM RELEASE --

3. URL Badman

4. As Long As I Got You

Lead Balloon is good but totally killed the album campaign I think, and Our Time is a nice album track at best.

Hard Out Here, Air Balloon & As Long As I've Got You are all great songs. Somewhere Only We Know cover not so...
'Air Balloon' was a really tragic single choice, 'Our Time' was even worse - I don't know if she had any potential decent single choices though. 'URL Badman' would probably have been better than either of those but I doubt it'd have been an era saver either.

From what I remember, she was pretty unhappy with the single choices herself, wasn't she?
