Posted November 3, 201410 yr Theme: Michael Jackson vs Queen Guests: One Direction :cheer: and Sam Smith So as one current theme is ditched for another, what is everyone expecting this week? :D
November 3, 201410 yr So as one current theme is ditched for another, what is everyone expecting this week? :D Another dull week song choice wise. :kink:
November 3, 201410 yr Better than Disco theme but still not particularly original, we need Boybands, Girlbands, Naughties, Dance, R'n'B. I think Paul might be next out :/
November 3, 201410 yr I am a GIGANTIC MJ and Queen fan, but of the tonnes of interesting/exciting themes they pick artists that they focus on virtually every year. Gahh so many missed opportunities. I hope at least they do inspired song choices from the acts. And i DEMAND 'Who Wants to Live Forever' be performed by anyone because it's the best  ~ Also FAB guests. Wish Sam Smith was doing 'Leave Your Lover' and it rocketed to #1 but excited nonetheless.
November 3, 201410 yr Perhaps I'm too cynical but this theme screams of protecting the overs yet again. Fleur can do another MJ song easily, and of course Queen is right up Ben's street... Stevi could easily do Don't Stop Me Now again or maybe something like Smooth Criminal or Bad, and Jay will probably crucify Bohemian Rhapsody. By contrast, disco would have killed both Ben and Jay dead surely? It just seems a bit convienient, I mean they even announced disco as the theme on Sunday's live show :drama: I think they want Paul out but realised he has a big soulful voice so would be ok with disco. Hmm, I've been spending too much time on Digital Spy
November 3, 201410 yr I think they want Paul out but realised he has a big soulful voice so would be ok with disco. Hmm, I've been spending too much time on Digital Spy  I don't think so. He sounded great on "Bat Out Of Hell" last week and I think he'd suit rock (Queen) or perhaps an MJ ballad. I'm just glad we don't have Stevie doing "Staying Alive" or "I Will Survive" as I'm more than certain he would have done one of those in disco week. Edited November 3, 201410 yr by Envoirment
November 3, 201410 yr I think the themes are good, plenty of songs to choose from that have stood the test of time unlike ones in Disco/Big Band categories.
November 4, 201410 yr Disco would have been fairly restrictive but I'd welcome the return of the 'Club Classics' theme, that could be broader. Rebecca Ferguson doing 'Show Me Love' was one of my favourite performances of the 2010 series! MJ/Queen could potentially be enjoyable but I hope the songs they choose aren't the usual suspects. Both have huge back catalogues so there's no excuse not to be imaginative with the choices.
November 4, 201410 yr Michael Jackson - That's just as bad as Disco. So I will still not be watching. There have already been 2 MJ songs on the lives already. Thriller & Earth Song. What's the betting somebody will do the rubbish Man In The Mirror. As for Queen What's the betting for Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now or We Are The Champions when they did other great songs such as Radio Gaga, Killer Queen, Bicycle Race. As for themes there are much better ones such as Dance/RnB - 60s - Rock (Queen is too restrictive) 90s - Motown Song Book, Country. Edited November 4, 201410 yr by euro music
November 5, 201410 yr I'm glad Steph is gone because if she had done Man In The Mirror and copied Diana on two songs (that + Call Me) I'd have thrown stuff :teresa:
November 8, 201410 yr Could they make it any more obvious they want Paul out? At least there isn't the Strictly clash  As well as because I like him and he's hot, I hope he stays to rub it in their faces because it's always good when they don't get what they want.
November 8, 201410 yr This track should have more punch to it, it just sounds too limp. Awful performance.
November 8, 201410 yr It's not really song you can showcase your voice on but nonetheless still a strong performance. Not too bothered even if he ends up in the bottom 2 because he'd blow anyone else away in a sing-off.
