I wouldn't be surprised if 1989 overtakes Cheryl to be honest. The "Blank Space" video has boosted sales for the song and the album so far.

Is Cheek to Cheek top 40?

Unfortunately not - #66 :o

Cheryl's total sales will show whether there's any real interest in her beyond a singles artist. I predicted she'd only sell around 30k first week which looks to be the case. Makes you wonder how much lower her sales would have been without X Factor.

Is that right she's released 4 versions of her album? :o

It's just because there's an explicit version and a censored version of the standard and deluxe editions.

Physicals: Standard CD, Deluxe CD, Box Set (online store only)

Downloads: Standard Clean, Standard Explicit, Deluxe Clean, Deluxe Explicit

Thanks.

I see Amazon lied when they said Pink Floyd had pre-sales of over 100k! :P Fantastic sales nonetheless - slightly better than Ed Sheeran's first update sales of 75.3k.

I did think 100k pre-orders sounded a bit unbelievable to be honest!

Didn't realise that was a higher first day than Ed Sheeran though, it won't beat his first week sales as Floyd will be much more frontloaded but possibly could just about beat Coldplay then?

This could be my favourite album chart of the year :cheer:

What a catastrophic mess for Cheryl. She should be able to hold at 6, though -- Taylor at 7 is quite a way behind her sales-wise.

Glad that x has increased its sales week-on-week despite dropping to 5 due to the competition.

So if Gareth Malone has it in the bag this week, is there a 1 week window for Tom Odell to possibly pinch a week at No.1 before Band Aid?

Not before Band Aid as that's out on Monday. The last two years have had a quiet sales week or two just before the X Factor winner's single which will be Tom's best chance (that is how Gabrielle Aplin got to #1, and Lily Allen returned to #1 on decreasing sales). Of course that quiet week won't exist if Band Aid 30 is really massive but we'll see what happens ~

Wake Me Up at #1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/67d90ee8.gif

how unlucky for Foo Fighters to be releasing this week, they could've been #1 last week with just one day's sales.

Becky Hill top 40 in the mids :o Great to see as it'll probably result in a top 75 hit for her. Hope she can get properly big next year anyhow

Lol at the fact a choir cover version of an Avicii song is heading to #1, yet from iTunes pre-orders, a brand new Avicii song is looking to flop!

Yep, good point Bre. Should be interesting to see the outcome! :)

The Days is only a buzz single though*~ he'll be back next year with a megasmash that R1 and the public will get behind :cheer:

*may or may not be wishful thinking/sarcasm

Just like 'G.U.Y' was. :kink:

How is it going to flop when it has managed 83 on streams alone?

it's doing really badly on iTunes pre-orders and radio isn't playing it

Hmmm.. :(

But surely it'll enter the top 40 upon release? And radio will play sooner towards release?

Cheryl's label couldn't have chosen a worse week to release on if they tried!

Disappointed to see Rökysopp so low especially as it's their last album and insanely good but each of their studio albums has given them diminishing returns so I shouldn't be surprised.
