December 1, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/orHKuKA.png Troye Sivan And next up is the cutest little YouTube sensation and singer-songwriter, Troye Sivan (well, after Queen Grace Helbig because really nobody's better than Grace x) at #6. I've been a fan of his videos on YouTube for a while now, and it was great to hear he was releasing an EP. 'Happy Little Pill' did not disappoint - something that actually sounded like it came from a deep place, like the rest of the EP (and probably a lot different to what some were expecting). 'The Fault in Our Stars' is simply stunning though - remember the video of that he uploaded and still sounds as good! Here's hoping that a début album isn't too far around the corner and he can smash (hopefully with a couple of YT features along the way *.*) artists of 2014 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 1, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/aLc1Qvn.png Ariana Grande Another big turnaround for me this year. Wasn't sold on her début album that much, 'Piano' and 'Popular Song' aside (the latter is one of the best things she's ever done, and as well as that one of the best things Mika's done - not that there's much to comment on there). 'Problem' isn't exactly an *amazing* song, could easily have done without the Iggy feature, but 'Break Free' is such a pop JAM and she's really come into her own this year and with this era. Future looks promising for Ariana, and here's hoping that the next album, whenever that may be (hopefully in 2015), is just as good! artists of 2014 05 Ariana Grande 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 1, 201410 yr Great to see Ariana and Ella in your top 10 artists. I really hope Ella can score a big hit from her next single as she is amazing, still can't believe if I go wasn't a massive hit :(
December 1, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/TTUI9Bv.png Jack Walton Next up is the hottest and cutest and most adorable human (well, second to Zayn Malik), and insanely amazing singer Jack Walton who rose to fame this year via The X Factor (wish he'd stayed a secret though x). Have loved him since long before XF, and 'The Way Out' is just one example of how extremely talented Jack is, and it's great to see it's not gone forgotten since he recently performed it again for On't Sofa. Whatever the future holds for Jack (aside from any future naked photoshoots (which, at the same time, are MORE than welcome)), I certainly hope it's bright and that we at least have some new music from him next year, whether it be a song, an EP or even an album (one can wish). artists of 2014 04 Jack Walton 05 Ariana Grande 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 1, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/ZN49Rvi.png The Vamps My boys failing to reach the top spot on another countdown, oops. Seriously has been so close at the top of these things, so it could have gone any way, but who will come out triumphant in the songs chart? Anyway, The Vamps are definitely one of the biggest defining points of my year. Not only is their album really one of the best to have come out of pop music in a long while, alongside a couple of others, they've had KILLER singles - 'Last Night', 'Somebody to You' and 'Wild Heart', all sensational. And outside of the music, Brad <3. And what with the Christmas edition of the album just leaked, they've proved they can produce fabulous covers of Christmas songs as well (not that they couldn't do that in their YouTube days, but yeah). 2015's probably going to be even bigger for them, I imagine. artists of 2014 03 The Vamps 04 Jack Walton 05 Ariana Grande 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 1, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/73Uh0jP.png 5 Seconds of Summer And just missing out on the top spot, crashing out at #2 are the boys that have the #1 album of the year, 5 Seconds of Summer. Calum is perfection, Ashton is near perfection, Mikey is a mile off perfection but isn't that bad, and Luke is more than a few miles off perfection, but still isn't that bad either. These boys have it all, and their music is EVERYTHING. They've had a massive year, getting an official UK #1 with 'She Looks So Perfect' and putting an album out there that really does sound like it could have hit after hit after hit. 'Amnesia', 'Beside You' and 'Long Way Home' are all just perfection though. <3 They really have exceeded my expectations and I hope it's not too long before we get another album from them, but they've got a lot to live up to! The question is though, who is the #1 artist of the year? artists of 2014 02 5 Seconds of Summer 03 The Vamps 04 Jack Walton 05 Ariana Grande 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 1, 201410 yr The vamps have really surprised me. Can we dance and somebody to you are probably my favourite 2 boyband songs of the last few years, both 10/0 moments for me  I am looking forward to hearing the Christmas version
December 2, 201410 yr Some really brill people here so far, like Clean Bandit, 5SOS, Jack, Troye and Tinashe! love love love
December 2, 201410 yr Author http://i.imgur.com/2hZyVnC.png Kylie Minogue And the artist of the year is the real queen of pop herself, Kylie! She didn't quite manage to claim the #1 album here, but she has had a sensational year! 'Kiss Me Once' has two minor errors, but it's a fabulous album overall - so many gems including the likes of 'Into the Blue', 'Sexy Love', 'Sexercize', 'If Only' and 'Kiss Me Once'. Then of course we had the mesmerising accompanying tour. That night in Glasgow was honestly like a massive gathering of gayness, sexiness, pop CLASSICS, intimate moments and all round emotion all in one arena, such an amazing night. Really didn't think she'd be able to top the Showgirl tour, but that comes extremely close. And then of course it's going to be shown on ITV in the run-up to Christmas, so even more to get excited about! Then of course we've had all the sideline projects, including 'Glow', 'Break This Heartbreak' and 'Wait' - all three of which are very good songs! Probably will be a while before we get more music from her, but I for one can't wait and let's hope it's just as magic! artists of 2014 01 Kylie Minogue 02 5 Seconds of Summer 03 The Vamps 04 Jack Walton 05 Ariana Grande 06 Troye Sivan 07 Ella Eyre 08 Tinashe 09 Shawn Mendes 10 Clean Bandit
December 2, 201410 yr Ah, Ella Eyre. She really does have the most perfect voice, really hoping she finally breaks out in 2014 because she needs to be huge. I agree with her two previous singles just being fantastic but for some reason they aren't multi-platinum #1 singles :( Jack Walton was great on the XF and definitely one of my favourites, he had a lovely voice and a lot of charisma I thought. Hoping his growing fanbase can help him breakout in 2014. Kylie though? Gurl, she would've been my #1 artist 20 years ago in 1994 not 2014!! :P

'Comeback' to be re-released please once her album reaches #1. :kink: Definitely agree about Jack, he has the whole package really. Would be surprised if he didn't at least do something next year, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. And re. Kylie, I guess my love for her this year has been heightened massively by the KMO tour, really was a perfect night <3 (I hope you'll be watching it on the television Josh x) -x- SONGS OF 2014 starting after the next recap!

'Find You' isn't Zedd's finest piece of work, but it's nice to listen to. 'All About You', I think, is really poor in comparison to 'Chasing the Sun' - not the type of song I hope crops up often on Hilary's comeback album. 'Right Here'... What even is this? Jess Glynne's solo songs are a nice listen once in a while, but I really can't imagine her actually *having* solo material given she's always sidekicking Clean Bandit. And then we have 'On the Rocks'... Oh Nicole, what were you thinking? It's a really good song, but is NOT a good choice of single. Glad she's giving 'Run' the push it deserves now because it was stupid to ignore it and go for this. Taylor Henderson makes an appearance, but something Joseph will be happy about is his BJSC flop popping in to say hello! Kingsland Road (lol) appear with their single 'Dirty Dancer' which... really didn't do anything at all, and Laleh (Johnkm shoutout) appears with her only song in the countdown - 'Stars Align' (which is nice enough, just not anything amazing in the slightest). 'Children of the Universe' makes an appearance here, albeit very low, and quite deservedly so. It really has not stood the test of time and I rarely go back to it now. There is a much better track from 2014's Eurovision (spoilers x). 'Hopeful'. Lol, why is this even here?! It's a catchy little chunk of cheese, but that's about it really. Oscar Zia, the adorable one... 'Yes We Can' is fab, and then we have Bebe Rexha... Am I the only one that thinks she sounds a lot like Cher Lloyd in this song? Maybe it's all the nasal activity going on, but otherwise this is a fabulous song. Tom Odell makes his ONLY appearance here, thank god, with this year's John Lewis song - definitely not their best, and probably nowhere near... at all. Taylor comes flopping in at #238 with the lead from her new album '1989'. Probably challenges Jessie J for a 'fuck the haters' type song that gets quite annoying after one listen. GtegCxVUpac
