Kiesza performed her new single on the Xtra Factor, hopefully gives the track a bit of a boost.

I wouldn't get your hopes up - it provided almost no boost to Oh Cecilia earlier in the series :kink:

Strange to see something reverse in percentage after an X Factor performance but Bob's promo (and the #1 buzz) did its job. Looks like another #2 (or #3) for Take That. Which I'm still really happy with, it would feel a bit odd as a #1 if The Flood and Rule The World couldn't get there. I'd initially thought low top ten so I'm very pleased with how it's done!

Hoping their physical sales will keep them at #2, They released 3,000 of them so might be the difference between #2 and #3 if they start falling rapidly.

Seems like Mcbusted could be out the top 10 on iTunes as early as tonight :o I never really expected it to perform this poorly, it will almost certainly miss the top 15 now as I doubt it will provide much streaming.

04. Labrinth - Jealous

17. Rixton - Wait On Me

20. David Guetta Feat Emeli Sande - What I Did For Love

22. One Direction - Night Changes [Expecting this to miss the top 10 unless it gets an x-factor final performance]

72. Nicole Scherzinger - Run

Kiesza's performance was very good and sold the song to me. I still can't properly love it though because of its crime against SPELLING -_-

The Take That song sounded good too on XF. Probably won't be around for long but another top 3 for them is pretty good going. Labrinth can bore off though. I do not and have yet to, get the excitement behind him at all.

still got Graham Norton show next Friday to hopefully provide a boost ,

22. One Direction - Night Changes [Expecting this to miss the top 10 unless it gets an x-factor final performance]

It's not even had any airplay yet :P Video only just got premiered, it's waaay to early to call this. EP out on the 14th, same day as the X Factor final, so am expecting a performance then. I'm sure it'll go top 10.

Really deserves to be massive for them. One Direction are known for having HORRIFIC ballads so for them to release this makes it even more special. Could go down as a favourite of mine now and i hope it grows similarly for others.

They've really outdone themselves this era (musically at least and in the videos - the other aesthetics/performance sides are shoddy though which is a shame)

I wouldn't say they're *known* for it as such, when Story of My Life and Little Things are in their top sellers :kink: but they do seem to divide opinion more than their uptempo tracks. Hopefully Night Changes is the huge hit it deserves to be

I suppose 'Story of my Life' was the turning point for the good ballads then. I forgot about that despite liking it a lot. :P

This album shows how much they've grown as songwriters* though when you compare the lyrics to things like 'Little Things' and 'Gotta Be You' it's all very mature now and works much better for them.

*do they wrote their own songs? Idek~

I don't think they had much input in writing the first three albums (the odd track here and there afaik) but I'm pretty sure they co-wrote pretty much all of this album. 'Night Changes' is actually brilliant, structurally quite simple but a stunning ballad. If there's any justice it will go Top 10.

Can't take this shade of 'Little Things'. By far their best song. Can't see them ever beating it.

'Story Of My Life' isn't really a ballad, more of a midtempo surely. It is however as awful as most of their ballads :magic: Although I may have to re-evaluate 'most' there as 2 of their ballads have been pretty good now ('Little Things' being their best as I said just now ~ and 'Night Changes' is good as well and will probably grow on me a lot more).

Incidentally is the John Ryan who wrote 'Night Changes' (or 'co-wrote' but let's face it 1D probably had very little input here) the same one featured on Pitbull's 'Fireball'? Hmm.

One Direction have never had a really good ballad, all of them are boring as hell and whiney.

The new single is no exception, I'd even classify it as one of their worst to be fair.

Won't be surprised if Air Guitar misses the top 10, but pleased McBusted have announced Get Over It as their next single. Based on the Itunes preview it could do very well. Much more radio friendly.
Im hoping the x factor affect will last longer for take that than band aid 30. Graham Norton will give take that a nice boost towards the end of the week.
1D wrote no songs on their 1st and 2nd albums. Little Things was written by Ed Sheeran. I think 2/3rds of the tracks of Midnight Memories were co-written by members of 1D, and then as far as I'm aware, there's only one track on FOUR that doesn't have a writing credit from any one them (coincidentally another track written by Ed Sheeran).

Write to her to change her name to Kiesa and her song to No Enemies so you can finally love it in all it's glory :D

The Pogues' top version has officially overtaken Mariah's! :D Of course Mariah will still be ahead combined (she's at 88+92 to The Pogues' 82+194) but it's great to see The Pogues at least TRYING this year after they were quite unceremoniously trounced in 2013.

601. Blue Swede - Hooked On A Feeling

Wondering if this can go top 100 (again?) thanks to the DVD release of 'Guardians of the Galaxy'? I hope so anyway!
