Forgot about Let It Go, that's such an underrated song and one of Devlin's best!

Two contrasting Labrinth's productions I have always like are Tinie's 'Lover Not A Fighter' and Plan B's 'Playing With Fire'.

Earthquake is already a classic I feel, be hard for him to top that.

All tracks on Now 89 except Break Free available separately on release week this time. :)

'Let It Go' would love Devlin to come back with material as strong as that <3

'Earthquake' was good (and a major club tune during my second year at university) but it ultimately got overplayed and now joins the rest of his material on the scale of annoying-to-dire.

96. Heavy Crown (feat. Ellie Goulding) - Iggy Azalea

113. Beg For It (feat. Mo) - Iggy Azalea

122. Beg For It (feat. Mo) - Iggy Azalea

151. Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson) - Iggy Azalea

This release all seems very half-arsed.

Much like the music itself.

Most pointless re-release ever.

So would I, he's a really strong lyricist in my opinion. Hopefully he avoids another 'Rewind' trying to go too mainstream and watering his music down

Definitely!

'Bud, Sweat and Beers' (still an AMAZING album title ) was strong and seemed very personal to him/the city around him. I didn't hear the next album but you could tell from the singles that he was losing all of that rawness to score a hit. A shame :(

I had a listen today and I thought 'We're in this Bitch' had a nice sound to it and 'Trouble' was good. 'Beg for It' is growing but definitely her least good single.

Reclassified is a bit of a "mini album" like The Saturdays' Headlines was, although I don't think the new material is strong enough to determine such a release. They'd have been better off just sticking the new stuff to the original album and make it a traditional album re-release (although the idea of releasing in the way it was is useful for fans who already have the original album).

I'd love Devlin to come back with something like 'Brainwashed' even though it'd probably do really badly (unless he gets a Jme feature...)

Surely 'Runaway' was just as watered-down-to-get-a-hit as the singles from 'A Moving Picture' anyway? Although it was a better song. I quite liked '(All Along The) Watchtower' but it was far inferior to the first album's singles and 'Runaway' 'Rewind' was just frankly pointless and weak. Quite surprising in retrospect that either of them made the top 10, I suppose the former was mostly down to Ed's name power.

Definitely!

Bud Sweat and Beers had some iconic tracks like Community Outcast  , London City and Runaway and like you said, very personal to himself.

His second album is okay, Off With Their Heads is pretty amazing and although very commercial, I liked Watchtower. Most of its very forgettable though, he's capable of much better.

Definitely suprising looking back that Devlin has two top 10 singles  Surprised that Runaway never got there though.

I won't hear anything bad about Runaway - really sweet and very overlooked little number, Yasmin's very well cast vocals makes it ofc.

I obviously meant 'Rewind' as the pointless/weak song. Similar titles ok

Wasnt this quite big at the time??

 26. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande

 2nd new Christmas hit of 2014? It will need to climb higher to get top 40 though clearly!

Yes they are drowned out by the sound of her albun crashing 7-28.

She still can't hear you over her 5 #1 singles :D

It didn't get top 10 sadly and I don't think it hung around for that long either. I dunno why it stood out for me from other generic 'rapper and female singer' hits at the time, but it was lovely. (I don't care for him at all besides that)
