Take That are VERY close to that number 1 now on the latest Kworb update, but then it looks like Taylor might be coming for it too, she just had a massive increase!

Am I right in saying that if TT stay above Band Aid, whether that's them at #1 and BA at #2 (or more likely TT at #2 and BA at #3 once Taylor Swift goes top which looks inevitable) then TT will probably get the #1 on Sunday?

It's highly possible if they can maintain #1 on Itunes for the rest of the week (will also get #1 affect) since sales between them are very close. They also have streaming which Band Aid doesn't.

My hopeful top 5 this week:

1. Take That - These Days

2. Band Aid 30 - Do They Know It's Christmas

3. Taylor Swift - Blank Space

4. Olly Murs - Wrapped Up

5. Labrinth - Jealous

Any of these positions could be different on Sunday!

3 Taylor Swift - Blank Space 0.9103 0.8540

It's definitely a two horse race for #1 (Bland Aid and Take That), the #3 was like 14k behind on Wednesday. There's no way of making up a gap like that with just a small lead on Kworb.

Although I'd love for Take That to be #1, realistically I think it will finish:

1. Band Aid 30 - Do They Know It's Christmas (narrow winning margin)

2. Take That - These Days

3. Olly Murs - Wrapped Up

4. Taylor Swift - Blank Space

5. Labrinth - Jealous

It's happening then! With the extra upcoming promo and streaming points it's surely Take That's for the taking now? Must say I'm surprised, didn't think this release would get it given Rule The World & The Flood didn't quite manage...
3 versions of Wrapped Up in the itunes top 40 :)

No hope for Ariana xmas #1 then

I thought this would land at like #6 with an X-Factor performance, borderline top 10 without. :o I never would have pictured this a week ago.

Fair play to them! It's such an impressive feat this far into their career, not only that after a 4 year gap and nowhere near as much support/exposure they got with 'The Flood'.

'These Days' will reach #1 on pretty low sales (assuming it does get #1) but they're due one of those after 'Rule The World' (did 'The Flood' have really high sales at #2 as well? I forget). It's very impressive for them to even be challenging for #1 this late into their career anyway of course. Will just probably seem like a bit of an odd #1 looking back!

Taylor is still gaining quite quickly and is only just behind TT now though so I expect their time at #1 on iTunes will be fairly short. Would love for Taylor to climb to #1 next week  I think it's probably going to be her vs. Olly (both would be good #1s, I'd prefer 'Blank Space' as a song but Olly getting that 4th lead single #1 in a row after all would be very pleasing and Taylor can further her new Sash! status with a fourth #2 :kink:) with Band Aid 30 and Take That dropping away a bit, don't see Blonde/Union J challenging for #1. Will be even lower sales than this week of course but ah well.

With both 'Black Space' and 'Do They Know It's Christmas? (2014)' not available on streaming services and the extreme closeness at the top of the chart currently, we could very well be in for the first different #1 on sales / overall in the next couple of weeks.

I think 'These Days' could potentially be like 'Candy'. :o (I know that had higher #1 sales, but it could hold up as well as that did when nobody expected a #1 or particularly long chart run).

I'm rooting for them to get it actually, it's a pretty good song too!

'The Flood' debuted with 69k which was quite decent for 2010, then went on to sell 87k the following week (again at #2) which was great.

'Rule the World' debuted with 97k, so both their #2 singles' highest peak position sales outside both their number ones' - 'Patience' (61k) and 'Shine' (42k)! :P

Shocked to this doing as well as it is!

I don't know why. I just assumed Mark Ronson's return would be very muted for some reason, but it's a solid song and i suppose the feature is helping it along the way too. Should be a decent hit now :D
