Fleur is no Beyonce either.

Thank God - I wouldn't be voting for her if she was.

Beyoncé is pants compared to Rihanna.

Something I can agree on Ri>>>>B :teresa:

Idina tonight?

Wooow.

"Let it go" to number 1 please

Oh and Fleur was AMAZING last night, although her lots of her vocals weren't live. She definitely has the X Factor

You are both making my point, cant Andrea/Ben be themselves? You are already slating them for mother's day albums etc. I'm sure there were many who thought 1D would be the next flop boyband selling to a small but rabid fanbase in the UK.

Fleur's shortcomings vocally can be overlooked seemingly, why cant the supposed shortcomings of Ben/Andrea be overlooked too?

There is nothing to say who will be and wont be successful after the show and who will be the real 'X factor' outside of the show in terms of sales. Right now the 3 biggest acts to come from the X factor are an entertaining but limited over (Olly) a dull but amazing voiced female (Leona) and a thrown together boyband (1D).

People thinking Fleur has the X factor because she can perform are well entitled to that opinion but telling others they are wrong because they may have a different view of what the X factor is is frankly annoying.

Because Fleur has the whole package, which can make up for her vocal "shortcomings". Andrea's selling point is just his voice, and traditionally acts like that have struggled to sell off the back of X Factor. Ben could go either way, I do think if he does rock he could easily do ok but I think he'd be better off coming 3rd or 2nd. Look at how Syco handled Leon, Shayne, Matt and James for example! Some might say Fleur would do better coming there, but I just think generally think that they handle female winners (Sam aside) better. Little Mix are female and bit edgy (although they were more pop for the first album largely) and they've been handled well, I know comparing is annoying but if she's like any winner she's a one woman Little Mix and she'd be the most successful of the four as a winner I believe. But I'll gladly eat my words if Ben or Andrea are more successful :P

I'm 100% backing Fleur, but people need a reality shock really. Having longevity is not about being "like Fleur" (whole package, performer, etc.) or being "like Andrea" (strong vocalist delivering true emotions). Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Longevity is about having good/great material. Of course Fleur would be huge if she released a track like "Uptown Funk" as a her own single. Because she can "carry" the song, but also because the song itself is amazing and has selling power on its own.

At the end of the day, the reason why most X Factor acts flop after a while is because they aren't given great material and because they have no big producers to work with.

Alexandra Burke had the whole package (and to me she was far better than Fleur in that league), and if she had great material, she would still be smashing. So basically, the thing is that you can have the "whole package", but if you don't have good songs, it won't get you anywhere.

Even worse would be Andrea and Mel singing a big diva ballad

Can I just say, this is actually because Simon has no idea how to handle an artist like them. Andrea isn't some middle aged woman and I completely oppose the idea he's like any belter that's been on the show before, I actually think his voice is actually a very rare find. Sam Smith isn't selling on the basis of his looks and performance skills, let's face it, I have no doubts that if someone really worked with Andrea that he could sell, but sadly Simon will just see him as an unmarketable covers-at-best artist.

I do agree with you there, it is the label's fault as opposed to the singers. Sam Bailey showed an over could win without being too modern, but they still just dismissed her in a similar way to Mary Byrne for example. I hated how they did that, they could have at least tried properly with her :/ But as it stands, with Syco handling artists like this so badly, it's better for them not to win.

You've gotta remember thought that Syco is a really small label (especially UK), I mean off the back of my head I think there's One Direction, Labrinth, Ella Henderson and then a few others on joint deals with other Sony labels. And generally they all tend to release around Q4. It's no wonder what some acts just get lost and mismanaged incorrectly. When you're stretched and limited, it's really difficult to put effort to market and sale a certain type of artist e.g. Sam Bailey when you're really going to be concentrating on other acts that will sell records.

Well said.

I agree Fleur is not as good as Alexandra, but she has a real stage presence and some of the most popular singers today arent the best vocallists but they have great material and stage presence and just are a star when they come on stage. Just look at Katy Perry and Rihanna for an example. To me, personally, they are the kind of people we need winning. You can have a big voice and be interesting but people like Andrea and Sam just stand there and sing big notes, its all very one note and uninteresting. I would not be able to survive at a concert of theirs, they just do not have the same sort of star quality or presence.

That's personal taste though. I like beautiful powerful voices but I also like Rihanna, Britney, Madonna none of whom are Pavarotti :) (Katy Perry is a shocking singer and trading purely on her image) I'm not a rock fan or a blues fan particularly but I see somethiing special in Ben's voice/tone. First contestant I've routed for in a long time. I get the whole you have to have the right image thing, it important but there are people that are marketable and can sing well too. I think Ben is one of those. I understand how the industry works but it just leaves a bit of a bad taste for me when I see the way they are trying to cover up her shortcomings as a vocalist and helping her purely because in my opinion they have plans for her after the show. At one point I thought she was miming last night (during AIWFC). I'm not 100% but if that's the case that is not on in a show like this. I agree with an earlier poster that how they are selling her is off putting. I have nothing against the girl she seems ok and can't blame her for taking the opportunity but I don't like that kind of thing. Maybe I should stay away from XF as I know how they manipulate and I still watch so it's all my own fault LOL

There's a huge difference between 1D and Andrea. 1D had star quality and always had POTENTIAL to be big, Andrea doesn't have that IMO. Lovely guy and undoubtedly a good singer but he lacks that star quality that would make him huge. Obviously he could do well with management better than what Syco would give him, but we know from past experience that that won't happen.

You don't seem to understand that you don't need to have the best voice to do well, despite the point being raised constantly. Fleur CAN sing, not the best range ever but you don't need that. Britney doesn't have the best voice ever but she had the right material and promotion and she was huge. Will Fleur be that big? Well no, but she has more potential to be fairly big than Andrea, in a similar situation to 1D really. The potential is there but whether she's handled right is another story.

No-one's saying you're wrong because you're not keen on Fleur but you can't deny the potential surely? You seem to be focusing a tad too much on the vocals I think.

Fleur 2nd performance lastnight blow everything else out the water, I wouldn't be suprised if she's topping the votes this week, I think final next week be out of her and ben be a close on vote wise probably.

I thought they were doing Sledgehammer? Don't like Bo$$ but they did a good job.
Not bad from a group I've never heard before now, apart from the big screech at the end.
Love 5H and "Bo$$". The performance was amazing, so hopefully it makes a big impact on iTunes!

I literally cringed at the awkwardness of it. Decent performance but still a bizarre song to perform.
