Although we don't have sales, it's a safe bet to say that both Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith will respectively have passed 4 x Platinum (1.2m) and 3 x Platinum (0.9m) total sales at some point either yesterday or, at the latest, this morning.

My guess for sales this week is that Ed will sell about 130k to 150k with Sam on 90k to 100k.

Bob Geldof must be annoyed that X Factor is stopping him going back to #1 :P Although I think Ed Sheeran will take the #2, so it won't matter.

Really hope Oliver Heldens can hold on to top 5, but Take That and Taylor will probably benefit from the weekend effect knocking him down to #6 :(

Fairytale Of New York top 10 though :D

These Days will probably overtake Last All Night, but I think that Blank Space won't, due to the fact it isn't on streaming.

liamk97 has just posted the BPI updated certification awards and based on the latest certifications it means that Ed Sheeran sold a minimum of 17k yesterday (to pass 1.2m sales) while Sam Smith sold less than 17.3k yesterday (to stay under 900,000 copies).

There's no way they'd be allowed to do that. You can't just push a single that is a cover of a song that's been released the week before, especially one that's guarenteed to be at least Top 2

Are there rules against this?

Possibly, but I hope it being a new entry (and would have been #1 under different circumstances) and how well Gecko was streamed along with TT's 3rd (?) week I hope it will stay at #4 :D

The popularity bars look worrying though

Looks like Fifth Harmony will get a lowly top 20 entry on Sunday, oh well.

I really hope CHVRCHES can hold in the top 40.

I'm more worried for George Ezra

out of interest where's Union J's single?

#25

Is All of Me finally out of the top 40 today?

No quite... but getting there

#25

 I kinda wish it made #1 so it would've broken the record for biggest drop from #1.

Union J album at #22 is quite low

What did you expect #1

Haha no obviously, but it's more of a flop than predicted, considering they also appeared on TV.

McBusted's album charting higher than Union J's in its second week is quite embarrassing for them.

Thanks for the position, Martin. :D

#25

I can't wait to see where it is on the sales chart on Sunday! This is so exciting! Will it beat McFly's "Baby's Coming Back/Transylvania" record for steepest fall from number one on the sales chart?

Is Blame in the top 40? (Please don't)
Calvin Harris? If so, it's (or was yesterday - no mids today!) at number 37.
