I don't think Ben Haenow will get more than 2 weeks at number one, I could definitely see his sales drop low enough in week 3 for Uptown Funk to take over at number one. Even in the long term i'm not so sure whether he will sustain long-term success or just fade away like most of the previous winners of the x factor. It's only Leona Lewis & Little Mix that have lasted long out of the previous winners.

I think this might be why some people in the music industry are against the x factor because it doesn't seem to provide long term stability for the people who end up winning it, I mean what's Leon Jackson doing with his life right now for example?

UF is doing 150K +/- this week I guess...

1 Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars) 1.0000

2 Ben Haenow - Something I Need 0.80242

Big jump for Haenow, but Uptown Funk is still dark Green. I think Sam Baily had all the competition down to 30% at this point.

Sam Bailey had like no competition, though.
I thought think he may increase now then begin to fall so Uptown Funk is back at the number one laptop later in the week. Should still top the official charts quite easily though.
I don't think you can compare Sam Bailey to the competition this week, Sam Bailey sold 150,000 in total which will be close to what Uptown funk will sell so Ben will never get uptown funk down to 30% like Sam did as he would have to sell about 700k to do that but with physical sales could be looking at about 200-250k which is quite good considering the viewing figures for this series have been very low and the winners song is average at best

It just shows you - instantly- the problem with X-Factor. Hundreds of thousands of people tune in and watch Ben for months, vote him as their winner and when it comes to the MUSIC side of things (not just watching him on TV and voting for him to win the show, but actually buying his music which is what the show is all about) they don't bother downloading his song. I mean, what, he'll sell like 250K max of the winners song? Where are all the hundreds of thousands of people who watched him and supported him for the last 4 months?

What's the point of voting him to win if you aren't going to even buy his winners single.

It seems that there are two types of people who watch X Factor, those more likley to vote, and those more likey to buy music (obviously there are people in between) but it goes to show that Fleur went to number 1 on iTunes for days, yet never managed to top the votes, not even nearly.

Only with an upcoming, unreleased song though, her other performances didn't seem to ever both the Top 40.

Yeah but it shows how much of an impact she could have with her own songs rather than covers.

The Iron Maiden campaign is moving along slowly......

With all versions currently charting at: 1345, 1162, 1075, 819, 772, 499, 373 and at 60.

Not quite the same impact of more recent campaigns.

This is maybe part of the reason why most winners flop after the series has ended. Oh well, I guess we've got the return of Take Me Out to look forward to on Saturday nights on ITV instead very soon :cheer:

I like your 2Pac sig btw.

After the slow start I was hoping Uptown Funk would snatch it :(

Ben had pushed Mark to 57% now :o

There was a problem with downloading Ben's single. Might have given a false impression of a slow start. It kept saying "unavailable" last night when I tried so could only download this morning....

Urgh every year we have a "LETS GET THIS ROCK SONG TO NUMBER ONE!!" campaign. Yet it's never worked aside from 2009.

Best of luck to Ben, i hope he can manage good sales, i really like his version of the song.
