She is not 'totally banned', in 2008 for example she was all over R1 with "4 Minutes" - it's about making music that suits R1's audience and has wide appeal outside of her fan base... however I will say and agree that the playlist team are a little bit ageist from time to time (when it suits them) and don't like being forced to play a record that becomes massively popular without their support.

Thank you for that! I am a bit confused though, if the songs are bought part of the pre order they wouldn't appear in iTunes songs chart but only in albums chart, right? I thought the songs that are charting are the ones that are bought individually?

If the songs are bought individually they will show in the iTunes tracks feed, however each pre-order for the album is also added to ALL five tracks, this is why they were initially clustered right next to each other and have since drifted apart. These aren't 'actual sales' of the tracks and so iTunes gives a false impression of how they are selling.

 

Personally if iTunes can distinguish between the two for the OCC, I don't see why they don't in their tracks feed but it's like that, and that's the way it is.

Wasn't 'Celebration' supported quite a bit on R1 too?

Great to see Kelly and Leona rising. Kelly might have actually made the top 100 the way she's going, which would have been fabulous. Sadly, she'll only sell today and tomorrow. Capital are playing it so much (It's a bit random - But I'm not complaining!)
