Be interesting to see how it holds up by the end of the week. A lot of people still stream Christmas Songs up until New Years. I see it falling quite substantially unfortunately.

I wonder if this can be the year where it finally nabs a top 10 peak.

Christmas songs are doing worse across the board this year compared to the same point last year so far so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much - was going to compare where it was charting this week last year but of course it was starred out in the equivalent week behind 3 'positions' tracks :lol: but it was #79 in the corresponding week in 2019 so pretty much exactly matching that. For the equivalent of the coming week, it was #33 in 2019 and #16 last year.

 

It's also only the 11th highest Christmas song in this week's chart (by comparison it was the 7th highest in that week that it entered at #16 last year, and the 8th highest when it peaked at #11 the following week), which suggests last year might have been a high point for it perhaps because she was everywhere at the time with the ongoing 'positions' era, although there's of course a chance it might still overtake some of the others in the coming weeks.

 

A bit annoying if this is just going to end up lumbered with an eternal #11 peak but I guess that's still a huge improvement from it originally only getting to #68!

I think there's a better chance of a re-peak if she is mid new era in the coming years. I'm going to assume last year the Christmas songs were doing better already because there was more people off work due to the pandemic, more people stuck at home and putting their tree up earlier etc.
