This is definitely the modern-day Mariah equivalent. And it would genuinely be one of her best ever UK top 10 singles should it make it.

Yeah this has really turned into a modern Christmas classic and I'm here for it - definitely my favourite festive hit of the 21st century <3

Oh wow! Makes sense when it's been a top 5 stalwart on Spotify recently (albeit just about, at #5 consistently :kink:).

So here for a new peak for this! She's such a bigger artist now than when this was released. I'd imagine many casual fans have only just discovered it this year.

Yeah, she'd already been a part of two #1s by the time 'Santa Tell Me' was released I think, yet she would go on to become so much bigger! I've seen quite a few people on the forum saying that 'Santa Tell Me' has clicked with them more this year which is pleasing to see.

i feel like she does... she hasnt pushed it once since it was released.

This has re-entered the US Hot 100 at #39 this week - shockingly this is both the first time it has charted since its original run, and is also a new peak and the first time it's made the top 40 (previously peaked at #42). I guess it would have re-entered more if it weren't for old songs needing to crack the top 50 to re-enter, but I hadn't clocked that it didn't manage to do that previously even at the height of the popularity of 'thank u, next'! Then again it seems like 80% of the Christmas songs that re-enter the Hot 100 each year are from the 50s and 60s so it's quite an achievement for any more recently released track to join those ranks (apart from Mariah ofc) :lol:
