stars in their eyes is getting a revival

this time presented by harry hill

is it just me.. but i'm not sure it's a good idea

it's a good idea that stars in their eyes is coming back (i love that show), i'm just not sure harry hill presenting it will do it justice

look at what he's done in his career.. you've been framed, TV burp, even his movie.. his sense of humour isn't right for a show like this

not sure he can take it seriously

P.S, i'm not saying anything bad about harry hill. the guy makes me laugh. i'm just saying it's a bad move

I was going to watch it but only just found out Harry Hill is presenting it... Lolno. I can't even attempt to watch this, he is absolutely horrific.

I'm not too sure how well Stars in Their Eyes is going to do in a post-X Factor world, but it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Interestingly, Harry Hill performed on a celebrity version of SITE in the 90s as Morrissey. Did a pretty decent job of it too -

i agree.

didn't do too badly at that

thanks for sharing- never knew he performed on the show

I saw this advertised earlier when I saw Harry Hill as the presenter, I thought "oh God" awful presenter, could have done better

Another old quiz show is getting a revival soon "Name That Tune" :D

Psst...I very nearly applied for this. Bottled it at the last moment so I'm hoping it'll do well ratings wise to get a second series (which I would go on). I loved the original show when I was a kid (I seem to remember voting vociferously for the chap who was Chris de Burgh back in the day. Even at 10, I had impeccable taste.)
This is probably one of the worst programmes I have ever watched. The performances were hideous and all that cringey talking and everything was diabolical. I fast forwarded half the programme to skip those parts and that bit with whatever Harry and Adele impersonator were doing is possibly one of the weirdest/worst things I have ever seen on TV.
I'm with Ultraviolence on this. I watched a small chunk on +1 after The Voice, and I thought it was absolutely atrocious. It didn't have any of the sparkle of the original show, and it felt like I was watching The Harry Hill Show at points.
I saw somebody on Twitter post a screenshot of Harry Hill being pied or something and that absolutely confirmed I will certainly not attempt to even give this a chance :drama:

It was horrific. We had 5 performances and the rest was Harry Hill. It was a train wreck to be honest. Too much Harry Hill and stupid sketches which were not needed. It was very all about him. It only took me 6 minutes to watch because I fast forwarded so much of the crap.

What happened to the days when the people actually sounded like the person they were meant to be? The Rihanna act was terrible

Absolute rubbish and I won't be watching next week. Should have known it would be all about Harry Hill. Stupid childish messing about. Horrendous and deserves to bomb in the ratings and be beaten by The Voice every week. Used to love the show too. Couldn't believe what we were watching. Wife even said "thought it was Stars In Their Eyes" LOL. Better to watch the old ones on Challenge.

It really was an embarrassment. How ITV thought this was an acceptable way to bring back such an iconic show is beyond me
I am a fan of TV Burp and Harry Hill's 'wacky' sense of humour, however, I thought this was terrible and it was all down to a poor choice of host. His style of comedy doesn't suit the format at ALL. It was cringe-worthy throughout and wasn't made any better by some rather poor performances from the public. However, put a better host in there and remove the forced comedy elements, and you've got a goer. If only someone had already thought of that (hello Matthew Kelly.)
