Surely you of ALL people should know how this works considering you were the first person who posted about the change?

I forgot (I don't spend much time in the UK forum)

There hasn't been any kind of official statement from the OCC (re iTunes change in reporting instant grats), we've all just made an assumption based on songs being allowed to chart (unless I missed the announcement).

ELASTIC HEART -

UK - 17 + 157

US - 19 + 170

That's videos for!! Watch and learn... with ZERO airplay in both country's. This is how it's done... I wish all of the artists could learn not to do some crappy videos.

Technically true but it's very clear that this is the case from observational evidence.

'Uptown Funk' will probably continue to be bought individually more than the album is pre-ordered anyway so I don't see this affecting it.

pre-order update

173. King - Years & Years

219. Rhymes - Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo

Hannah Wants nearly top 200 two weeks ahead of release :D Would be delighted if she could contend for a top 10 place to round off a successful January for the house invasion. Won't get my hopes up too much tho ~
 21. Sia - Elastic Heart (feat. The Weeknd & Diplo)

Biggest video effect i've seen in ages! Radio really need to get behind this now :D

'Blank Space' had just as big, if not bigger, video effect too in my opinion but there's no doubt that this is very impressive!

Woo! Climb!!! :yahoo:

I can't believe that putrid Fergie track is poised for top 10, especially in light of what happened with Gwen Stefani's superior comeback single. :drama:

True sod's law.

BS is also a BRILLIRANT video, only BS and This one had such a big boost in the past year... BW did well also but not as big as those 2. This is a very smart tool that nobody use it nowadays, it's a shame.

I would say that Elastic Heart's climb is more impressive than Blank Space (and Black Widow) because it has no airplay and came from a much lower starting point. BS and BW were already advancing up the chart when the video effect came.

Fergie spent her last solo album copying all of Gwen's singles, so maybe Gwen should do it back to Fergie this time.

I agree - and while Sia is doing very well at the moment - she isn't as iconic and in the public splotlight as Rita/Iggy or Taylor Swift. Sia is a deliberately faceless popstar and the public don't know much about her at all. Her music/art is doing all the work - which is fantastic and exactly what she's aimed for.

I was about to say "I hope not", before realising 'Spark The Fire' managed to be worse than anything Fergie's done. :teresa:

This is false. "Spark The Fire" >>> "L.A Love", "London Bridge", "Glamorous", "Party People"

Yeh exactly right, most singles from her current album will be top 40 as she is in her musical prime in terms of chart status!

 12 Blonde - I Loved You (feat. Melissa Steel)

In dark green as well! It's not very far behind Taylor Swift at #11, and could this make a return to the iTunes top 10 once James Bay drops out? :o

This is unreal!

Yeah, that's an impressive rebound, hopefully Blonde can return to the top twenty on Sunday!

Glamorous is her best song, Spark The Fire is by FAR Gwen's worse. An absolute horror :(

L.A. Love is a bit of a letdown by Fergie's standards, but it's ok and I'd like it to be a hit to set up the new era if nothing else!
