January 4, 201511 yr 'Mr. Brightside' managing to already secure a top 75 week for 2015 - it didn't chart during 2011 unfortunately (not even in the 76-100 region), otherwise it would be a 9th year in a row that it charted for at least a week! The highest it got in 2011 was #140 on the week ending 08/01/11 (if that counts towards 2010 then its highest 2011 position was one place lower at #141). Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' has managed at least a week in the Top 100 since 2006, so if it re-enters in 2015, it'll be its 10th year of doing so!
January 4, 201511 yr Author Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' has managed at least a week in the Top 100 since 2006, so if it re-enters in 2015, it'll be its 10th year of doing so! Had a #91 peak for 2014 though so its run of years with at least a week in the top 75 ended at eight. That's one record I'm happy to use just the top 75 to describe  More songs with several consecutive years of charting: The Pogues have of course charted for at least a week (as high as the top 20 even) since 2005 to make 10 years in a row up to 2014, while a handful of other Christmas songs were charting for an eighth year in a row in 2014. Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' also made the top 100 every year from 2007 to 2014 although it peaked at #79 in 2011. Kings Of Leon's 'Use Somebody' has had at least a week top 75 every year since 2008 (up to 2014), but 'Sex On Fire' didn't manage any top 100 weeks in 2014, for the first time.
January 4, 201511 yr If my program has done its adding up right, this is Kanye West's 500th week in the Top 75. It is also Taylor Swift's 25th week in the Top 5 without ever reaching number one, 2nd all-time only to Nat King Cole's 30.

January 5, 201511 yr She's not entered "back" there, this is the first time Reclassified has been top 100 so not a bad result really! I was going on weeks in the chart which is listed as 2 so assumed it had been Top 100 before, Regardless still a poor result and a shame as its a decent album.
January 5, 201511 yr Ugh, will 'Listen To The Man' EVER make the Top 40? :( I just want it to get one week! I guess the album going back to No. 1 was a nice surprise though. Nice to see Echosmith climbing a week after release too. Is 'Mr Brightside' back due to the gift card effect or for some other reason? Edited January 5, 201511 yr by Mango
January 5, 201511 yr Looks like the top 5 could be all non movers next week, with the exception of Ben Haenow, with Olly climbing the odd place. Hozier should remain in the top 10 after their performance on Graham Norton (Friday). I think its going to be awhile before someone knocks Mark Ronson off the top, I know Meghan's new track is due out soon, but I still have second reservations not getting there, with ATTB still lingering in the top 10. Umbrella was the last track to spent at least 9 weeks at the summit, I just wonder if Uptown Funk matches it or goes beyond it  who would have thought that would happen after all the 1 weekers at #1 last year... ha
January 5, 201511 yr Author Is 'Mr Brightside' back due to the gift card effect or for some other reason? It's 59p on iTunes (as are plenty of other more recent songs including 'Bang Bang', 'Don't', 'Chandelier', 'Riptide', 'A Sky Full Of Stars' and 'Counting Stars').

January 5, 201511 yr Author Largest Fallers: Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You - >80 (#100+ from #20) Wham! - Last Christmas - >72 (#100+ from #28) Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday - >63 (#100+ from #37) These are all not top 200 this week so their falls are much larger than that :P
January 5, 201511 yr Well unfortunately I don't have access to anything over the top 100 (though I'm sure some on here do) so I couldn't be certain. (I only got the Pogues/Ariana positions from the Sales thread).
January 5, 201511 yr Author The sales report says that Ariana and The Pogues have the only Xmas songs in the top 200. Maybe it'd be better to stick to climbs / falls that are actually known in this post, otherwise the order is kind of random :P
January 5, 201511 yr A massive exodus of re-entries (and plenty more climbers) this week with all the Christmas songs leaving, it really is just like the gift card effect has shifted to a week later. 'Mr. Brightside' managing to already secure a top 75 week for 2015 - it didn't chart during 2011 unfortunately (not even in the 76-100 region), otherwise it would be a 9th year in a row that it charted for at least a week! Exodus means Out.
January 5, 201511 yr Author Exodus means Out. So it does. (Perhaps I meant they were all coming out of non top 100 obscurity :P)
