August 31, 20159 yr I guess if the next one is labelled as the 'last' series it would make it more interesting and probably pull in viewers for nostalgia reasons. I think people still would like to see a singing contest just there needs to be a new angle to it. The Voice worked because the angle of it and the chairs was the exact opposite of X factor, it is about the voice not the whole package. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130920045257/glee/images/4/42/GinaMarie_confused.gif The Voice hasn't really worked here in the UK.
August 31, 20159 yr The ratings have put a dampner on what has been a brilliant weekend opener talent wise imo. I'm looking forward to finding out the categories tomorrow as the 6 seat challenge is being filmed.
August 31, 20159 yr I don't know what sammy is on but his medication needs changing, but the auditions stages are always low, it picks up when it reaches the boot camp stage and the lives. There is still life in the series if people want it, also if the series does end, they need to replace it with something similar to boost singles and album sales in the last quarter of the year.
August 31, 20159 yr They'll need to make sure they have another hit on their hands before they consider axing it. Look at ITV's other Saturday shows, they're lucky if they pass 4m at best. 'Dancing on Ice' fell a lot in the ratings but it still performed better than it's replacements.
August 31, 20159 yr Given it's longevity I think a break is needed. People might watch again if there is something to miss.
August 31, 20159 yr But that figure, is that just live viewers? I mean ratings are falling all the time because people now watch TV when they want, plus it's Bank Holiday weekend.Precisely. Bank Holiday weekend would definitely have factored in at some point. So people were probably just bothered about getting drunk and going out instead and then catching up on demand etc... I get the feeling because of how this episode ended and the fact it won't be bank holiday, ratings will rise slightly more. I hope so anyway. This has been the strongest opening I can remember for XF!

ITV don't care about boosting single or album sales in the final quarter. If they could have a hit show about a knitting contest they would. Actually the last series started high and just keep falling until it found a level of around 7m.
September 1, 20159 yr Attending the Six Chair Challenge filming today. Came early to see what to do about my 8pm tickets and they gave me free tickets for the 5pm session right behind where the judges sit!! Seeing the Girls and the Groups, I'll spill tea for ya!!

September 2, 20159 yr Just reviewed this weekend gone's audition episodes on my blog: http://alexscsb.com/2015/09/02/crazystupid...e-x-factor-itv/ Pleased to see Cheryl got the groups. I would've preferred Nick to have the Overs as more of a challenge, but you can't win 'em all I suppose.
September 2, 20159 yr Just caught up, I was cringing at that group who did Uptown Funk with the dancers and intro video
