Why has she randomly released 3 insta grats today?

Actually it wasn't that randomly. Last year she said (after releasing the first instant grats) she will release some more songs in February :D

Tori Kelly - Nobody Love

To be fair I don't think this was released. I can't find it on iTunes.

Is that a joke? :o

That's what I thought. So I went looking all over different sites and settings to find if I had the right chart/region!

Is Madonna REALLY at #1, #2 and #4???

It is a bit shocking but not soooooo surprising. End of last year, when she released the first couple of instant grats, they were very high too (although not #1-4)

Really liking Madonna's instant grat 'Joan Of Arc'.... By far my favourite instant grat she has released at the mo! :D

Ben, what is your chart prediction for these high Madonna tracks? Is top 20 sensible? (I'm trying to compare with Drown )

They are instant grats.

They are instant grats.

OK, so does this mean they cannot chart? Forgive me but I wasn't sure if OCC decided to abolish the grat rule, if I remember correctly that is

They probably won't even chart as the majority of downloads will be because they are instant grats and getting no rotation, so therefore fewer actual individually paid-for purchases. 'Drown' was a single so therefore all of the sales in the iTunes feed contributed towards its chart position.

As above, the data that iTunes supply to the OCC now splits the sales from instant grat downloads and individually paid for purchases. Only those that download the tracks without having pre-ordered the album will contribute towards the chart position on Sunday!

OK, thanks for your explanation :)

Ah thanks Juranamo, so I don't have to explain it :D

Maybe just to clear things up (again) what is an instant grat: they are not singles but songs you can get if you pre-order the album, so you pre-order the album and you get those songs (not for free, because the price will be charged but if the album is available it will cost less; deducting the prices of the instant grats). These sales won't go to the singles chart.

Also you can purchase these songs without pre-ordering the album and these individual sales will count towards the singles chart as Juranamo explained :)

So to answer your question Adam, I think these songs will chart lower than #100.

Thanks for extending Juranamo's explanation :D I wonder what the record for the biggest gap from an iTunes #1 to the singles chart position (obviously assuming they are allowed to chart :kink:)

That's hard to tell, because before October/November only the first instant grat was allowed to chart, the following from the same album didn't. That's because iTunes didn't split the sales. Since iTunes decided they can actually split the individual sales from the album pre-orders, every instant grats can chart although only with the individual purchased sales.

So we saw an instant grat (second or third) going up to number 1 on iTunes but wasn't allowed to chart at all.

Hmm... well that was still interesting to know so thanks anyway :)

No popbars to prove Madge occupied the entire Top 3 so I'm not believing y'all bye
Anyone know if/when Sugar Man by Yolanda Be Cool will be released? I heard it on the Italian channel on an advert and my friends who are currently in Australia have posted it on their Facebook stating it's huge over there.
