March 9, 201510 yr what would you suggest pointwise for it adam? i don't particularly have a problem with it, there's literally thousands of songs to choose from a month, i think if something is confirmed even just twice then it shows demand for it I agree, there are more than enough songs out there for everyone to find something sufficiently unknown to not clash with anyone else. It's not like 7 points is immediately enough to immediately veto something anyway. (Not saying I necessarily agree with Satin Circus being vetoed here though as the Finnish NF is hardly Melodifestivalen but there you go).
March 9, 201510 yr I think maybe 4 veto points for 2 confirmations? But then I would suggest for every additional confirmation add another 4 points. So if 3 people confirm it, it goes up to 8 veto points, 4 people 12 veto points etc. I know Ida LaFontaine's 'Anthem' had a double confirmation last month and had appeared on scandipop but wasn't vetoed. I don't think appearing in the Finnish NF means it's had severely more exposure to the wider participants in BJSC. It wasn't even my entry so I don't know why I'm getting so defensive about it tbh

I do agree with you in that only myself and 1 or 2 others will have been exposed to it via the Finnish national final itself and those 2 or 3 people will no doubt be scandipop readers as well so there's no wider exposure there. So it's basically the exact same situation as Ida, yet this one has unfortunately been vetoed.
March 9, 201510 yr This is the most excited I've been for a contest for some time. Get the show started already
March 9, 201510 yr Author This is the most excited I've been for a contest for some time. Get the show started already  Cause I'm hosting obvs ;) Semi's will hopefully be open between 7 and 8pm tonight :D
March 9, 201510 yr Making comparisons between song X and song Y in terms of a veto is really quite pointless. One song with 10 points might be incredibly uninspired/cheap/outside the spirit of the contest but JUST miss out on being up for a veto on a stupid technicality yet a song which gets 13/14/15 or whatever (ie. just inside the veto line) is an easy veto. The framework tries to be as inclusive as possible to minimise situations like this, but there's always going to be controversy. For what its worth I think pretty much ALL NF songs should be banned, it might only be a handful of people who know it/like it, but chances are, if it's been chosen to enter in BJSC, it's probably going to be one with a decent amount of appeal to pop fans in general and rather than being an unfair veto is actually a sneaky way of to bypass the veto and try and blag extra points/success for a song/yourself. (I realise I am HIDEOUSLY GUILTY of that as of late too, especially last month, but I fully admit I am PLAYING TO WIN these days).
March 9, 201510 yr Cause I'm hosting obvs ;) Semi's will hopefully be open between 7 and 8pm tonight :D Obviously :smoke: The fact that I am very confident with my entry also helps obv. hype me up Does this mean no more vetoes?

So it's basically the exact same situation as Ida, yet this one has unfortunately been vetoed. Let's be honest, it's more than just you and '1 or 2 others' that are already aware of Crossroads, it had a fair amount of positive buzz for a song in the Finnish selection. I count yourself, myself, Adam, Calum, Joseph, Iz, Rich, Liam, Rob, Pavel and that's just the people who commented on it in the thread / have charted it, no doubt there could be more on top of that (John, Tirren, Tom Kay etc.) plus anyone who heard it via plug.dj. If I didn't think it was veto worthy I'd have been straight in there sending it myself and then it would've been triple rather than double confirmation.
March 9, 201510 yr I would actually argue that Crossroads has had higher individual support than the majority of Melfest entries this time round, purely because it was standing out as the big wide-appealing hit that just lost out in 2nd in Finland alone (and would have been entered if not for the punk band stealing the show), away from any other Buzzjack-appealing songs. Completely agree with its veto, and I'm normally okay with most non-Sweden/Norway ESC rejects.
March 9, 201510 yr Well this shows how unqualified I am to comment on the veto worthiness of Eurovision songs. As you were then ~ Have all the vetoed nations reconfirmed?
March 9, 201510 yr I fully admit I am PLAYING TO WIN these days). Playing to win...err...win? No you've lost me there, that's an alien concept to Singerpurear, we are far too poor a country to be able to host the contest, we like to usually enter the equivalent of a singing turkey, but one that we love dearly. We live in fear that one day we will accidentally win, as we nearly did in U.P., and have to host again
March 9, 201510 yr This is the most excited I've been for a contest for some time. Get the show started already  YOUR SONG damn:
March 9, 201510 yr YOUR SONG damn: Yasss  Tbh I would be heartbroken if this DNQ'ed or missed the top 15. I don't hype myself ever but I'm so obsessed with this right now. I'd easily put it above Till It Hurts and Bullit right now Now watch this flop in at #23 in the semi's Edited March 9, 201510 yr by *Tim
March 9, 201510 yr additional vetoes :o wouldn't be surprised if UV's song got vetoed if it's what I think it is.
