Actually it peaked #11 because 'Stronger' was treated with single release...iirc it was a start when radio stopped playing Britney songs because of some deal that I don't remember what it was

Nope. That didn't happen until 'Slave 4 U', when Britney went with a clothing line to promote the 'Dream Within A Dream' Tour' instead of Clear Channel Radio. 'Stronger' received a soft physical release, but that was pulled before its peak in the USA.

If Britney had kept the physical release going until it's radio impact it would have easily gone top 5. Same story as how she pulled 'Oops' which in turn gave her the biggest female debut of all time.

I know it is certified Gold for selling 500,000 copies in US...that is definitely not a soft CD release.

Even the chart run indicates the sudden jump was from releasing a CD.

Amazing track. My bf doesn't like it as he says Brit sounds really badly auto tuned on it, which is true, but I still love it!
This is actually one of my least favourite britney songs. I just never could get into it.

A limited release is a better term for it. All of her singles pre ITZ were a limited release besides 'BOMT', 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart' and 'Crazy'.

I love it.

The video is EPIC.

Her hair. The close ups. The chair dance. The rain.

In my top 5 Britney ever! EVER.

It's how you do a pop song, imo! The video is sublime too. The chairography slays me every single time!

Definitely one of my faves from her, love the song and video. Also remember first buying the album and instantly loving this as a standout track, and knew that this had to be a single and was so glad.

Biatch couldnt you wait?

Anyway I like Stronger but its not one of my favs from Oops! Love the video though #independentBrit

It was good at the time, but it's aged badly and now the video is more epic than the song.

It started the trend of Stronger singles, but Christina and Kelly did it better later.

That growl at the start is always fun to mimic as well.

Lmfao! Same for me!

That and the "oh yeahhh" at the beginning of "Oops".
