Anyone know the longest Radio 1 has kept a song after a release before a song got dropped? 45S was released immediately so hasn't really been on long - Mango can tell us exactly but I'd say it's only around 6/7 weeks? Not sure in answer to your question but Gotye was on for 12 weeks I think which was a long time!

But the longest running song of recent times was indeed Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know, which was on the playlist for a staggering 14 weeks. And because the song was already available when it was added, technically it was on the playlist for 14 weeks after release.

I'm quite surprised they've stayed with them for 3 singles this era prob thanks to them getting hits and remaining popular - 4 top 40 singles in this era isn't to be sniffed at for a band that have been around since 2004!
