Poor 'Bring Back The Summer' being wiped from history :kink: But haha x I'm still dumbfounded by a few of your DNQs this year :drama:
(also low key kinda relieved that you didn't beat my points record with A-WA yet - I can't have you outdoing Persephonia in everything in a year and a half!!1 :kink:)

It was announced yesterday that yours truly is hosting the latest edition of BJSC, with a little help from none other than Persephonia! We had a taste of hosting exactly 10 contests ago with the Mulgracia x Jadakissnia BJSC 79 co-host and now is our time to take on a larger role. Confirmations for BJSC 89 opened today so make sure you all go and enter! We shall try and make this edition as enjoyable as we possibly can. As for our own entry, we have confirmed another electronic song but far more minimal in the vocal department this time. Speaking of both Persephonia and minimal vocals, today was also the opening of the voting for the...

Instrumentals Spinoff

Our choice for this spinoff was pretty clear cut! While there is a treasure trove of great instrumentals out there, we felt that 'Scorpius' by Op:l Bastards would be a perfect fit for this spinoff. This was one of our two main potentials for Worldvision II but it was just beaten out by Epelit. We felt like we still wanted to send this in some capacity though so BAM, this spinoff arising was a good opportunity to unleash it. Here we have an infectious Finnish dance banger, it features minimal vocals of the title sounding quite distorted. We hope you enjoy another foray of ours into the dance bloc!

Jade, you are going to have A BLAST. Sure it might be hard with everyone back at school in some way shape or form but it's going to be fun seeing where everyone will end up.

Also let's hype up Harry as a winner so that he gets a chance to host.

Thanks for the encouragement Cody! I am enjoying it so far despite the not so smooth start with vetoes/double confirmations  Quite fun to watch all the entries come in on the Google spreadsheet *.* Plus I'm sure watching the votes coming in for the final will also be exciting. Just a tad worried about managing it all with Uni BUT I'm sure it'll be fine, especially as it's a co-host!

Yes Harry to win tbh so we can have 3 BJSC 74 debutants hosting in a row *.*

#jadaphonia  Hope you have fun with your first time hosting the final! x Happy to have taken some of the workload for you, I should probably be more concerned with also going back to uni but I'm sure I can quite easily find the time to deal with this stuff anyway lol. Not like I actually have important things to do other than go to lectures. x

Also hooray for 'Scorpius' being brought back from the Jadakissnia archives for Instrumentals *.* Quite the jam, and I probably would have just forgotten it existed otherwise. I think Epelit was the better of your two potentials still but yay for both getting to be sent eventually.

#jadaphonia  *.* Thank you very much, as Cody says I'm sure I will have a blast haha. You're such a babe for doing that, I was getting a lil stressed about the thought of managing an entire contest by myself with settling into second year, so honestly having the workload of the semis taken off my shoulder is a real help. I just couldn't turn down the opportunity completely  Hopefully you'll be okay with juggling all these things yourself! As long as you think you'll be okay.

Hehe yay for this 'Scorpius' hype *.* I was a bit gutted at not sending it to Worldvision II after dance absolutely slayed that edition  But no regrets as Epelit was amazing. Yay at you being on the Jadakissnia meets Finnish artists hype train in general haha ;) x

FEYNMAN - 1-800MYLOVE

The co-hosting falls to Persephonia for the semi finals which are now open! This month we decided to send some electronic goodness once again. '1-800MYLOVE' by FEYNMAN features pretty minimal vocals but a LOT of sounds going on that change up throughout. Lots of different fabulous elements of production from a bit of strings to a piano outro. I was immediately hooked on this and I hope you guys will take to it in the way that I have. Yoann Feynman is a French producer, so the second time we've sent one of those this year after Perturbator. Please support us semi 2 people!

what makes you think you will DNQ with this :o?!!!

I believe this is dead sure Q!!

I'm not sure I just have a bad feeling for some reason  I hope you are right though!

I really like your entry this time, better than the last one, which wasn't really my thing.

It is trance I think, it certainly has trance build ups in it.

But Snakey you voted for my last entry! :o  Pleased that you're a fan of FEYNMAN anyway

Not sure what I'd describe this song as tbh other than electronic, 'a wall of sound' is fitting though *.*

Yes I started to like it a bit towards the end. I have an aversion towards anything too futuristic. FEYNMAN is better imo though.

How do you know about who I voted for as I didnt disclose my votes on any thread :o

I would say FEYNMAN is future trance (hopefully that will be the next big thing after future bass dies out

- well that or a funky house revival which would lead to stuff like Water Juice making the charts.

Ahh okay fair enough haha! Glad that FEYNMAN seems to be far more instant for you then *.*

Your votes were in the final results thread! They all get revealed there.

FEYNMAN through - no announcing our own DNQ!

Last night it was announced in our own capital city of Nadallius that we are through to the final of BJSC 89! Hooray that we were spared the embarrassment of announcing our own DNQ. Seriously though, thanks to all who voted for '1-800MYLOVE' by FEYNMAN as we're so happy to be through. This is our third consecutive qualifier at the moment and our 13th ever qualifier out of a possible 16.

We thankfully didn't have to say goodbye to many of our favourites! Just two of those. Our 1 pointer sadly finished in last place - that was Brechtoria's lovely indie offering 'Big Ideas' by The Boxer Rebellion. We gave it 10% of its points with it receiving just 10 of those. Our 2 pointer is also out - FKA FKA FKA Pi's funky 'I Want You To Shake' by Francis And The Lights. The nation failed to vote and received a 33% penalty as a result, meaning that their entry finished 27th with 32 points.

Make sure you all go and vote in the final and you have until Monday at 23:59pm! We shall have a blast hosting the final results.

BJSC Instrumentals results

Tonight the results of the Instrumentals spinoff took place in Persephonia. It was announced that our entry 'Scorpius' by Op:l Bastards finished in 22nd place with 103 points. Looks like we're losing our spinoff touch this year with 3 top 30 finishes in a row. Although at least we beat our last two finishes and crossed the 100 points barrier. 'Scorpius' was our other potential in Worldvision II and it outdid the performance of Epelit in that so no regrets really, as we got an outlet for both of them. We received one medal position this time - a silver from Mulgracia which catapulted us into the top 5 right at the beginning *.*

After some nailbiting tension, the winner of the spinoff turned out to be Fljótavík with their 17 minute epic 'And I Will Kiss' by Underworld featuring Evelyn Glennie and The Pandemonium Drummers. We gave this entry 13 points so we were chuffed to see it go all the way! The rival it faced was actually our 18 pointer! This was Terra Avium's stunning 'The Spectacular Quiet' by Lights & Motion which received a silver medal. Our 15 pointer was Aelandor with their absolute banger of an entry 'Illusion Of Choice' by Gramatik and that smashed its way into 10th place. Brilliant results for our favourites as we voted for the entire top 5!

Thanks to the following for voting for 'Scorpius': Mulgracia, FSR Rontvia, Taahino, Triangledonia, Deandria, Persephonia, Flynnonda, Quintessa, Fljótavík, St. Burbia, Syndare, Aeroche, Ethanola, Trifoski & Pupok

Next up - country spinoff!

Fabulous job hosting the semi results, looking forward to a final hosted by you! <3 (And congrats on not having to announce yourself as a DNQ haha, I remember worrying about this when I was hosting the semis of BJSC 62 (and was partly worried that I'd DNQ while co-hosting this month ) - '1-800MYLOVE' was not the most instant of your entries for me but it is already growing, especially like the bit you used in the recap for it x)

Not a bad result for 'Scorpius' as well, better than Epelit at least indeed.

Aw thank you so much, it means a lot that you appreciated it  Your hosting last night was ofc nothing short of flawless *.* Looking forward to hosting the final, hopefully no clerical errors in sight ;) x Lmao that would have been awks if I did have to announce myself out so yay that FEYNMAN is through *.* and that you're straight through too 'cause it was too good to miss out. x Fair enough regarding '1-800MYLOVE' - pleased to see that it's at least growing on you! The recap bit is definitely the highlight for me

Yeah not too bad at all really! Congrats yourself on getting a top 5 *.*

BJSC 89 RESULTS

FEYNMAN - 1-800MYLOVE

http://i.imgur.com/5V7QKWC.jpg

Last night it was announced by myself in the capital city of Nadallius that '1-800MYLOVE' by FEYNMAN finished in 14th place with 213 points. Mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, we didn't even expect to qualify at the confirmations stage so this was much better than we imagined considering. However, this was quite the regression from its semi performance! '1-800MYLOVE' fared extremely well in semi 2 - finishing in 3rd place with 96 points! This is our second best semi finish and second top 3 semi finish in a row. A projected 5th didn't quite happen but we'll take 14th. This is only the second time we have ended up in the 11th-20th region, following 13th for our debut 'Curtains' by Last Lynx. Muchos gracias to all those who pointed us this month, especially Fljótavík for the 18 and #00274E + N DNTN for the 13s!

I revealed that we had a shock winner in #00274E with 'Relax' by Crystal Waters! We awarded this entry 3 points so I'm happy enough. Things were extremely close all over the board but ultimately our favourites did pretty well. Our 18 points this month went to Terra Avium with 'Better Life' by Kids Of The Apocalypse featuring Wes Period. This ended up finishing in 19th with a round 200 points. Our 15 points went to the banger that is 'Stanga' by Sagi Abitbul and Guy Haliva - sent by Bøtanikkä. This placed in 4th with 285 points. Finally, our 13 went to Cumulonimbia with loopy and dancey motivational anthem 'Change Your Life (You Can Do It)' by Dan Deacon which finished in 16th with 210 points. Like us it also had a big regression from the semis - finishing 2nd with 97 points in semi 2!

Thank you to the following for pointing us: Summericia, Hushkanukia, Avalonia, Persephonia, Tartford, Mulgracia, N DNTN, Aeroche, Land of DW, Kylienips, Usfland, Suedeonia, #00274E, South Danaelanda, Lomaj, N-Lazone, Séyetana, Singerpurear, Cumulonimbia, BuzzJack Mountain, Terra Avium, Tinnmark, Daehun, Medhelnia, Cadelicia, Espen, Zanmatony, Ethanola + Fljótavík

And that's a wrap for 89! It was an absolute pleasure getting to co-host with Persephonia. Hope you guys all enjoyed the hosting, and liked the little extras like commentary and YouTube recaps. BJSC 90 now calls us!
