I feel like this might be the You Da One esque misfie of the era... I really like the song myself, much moreso than You Da One but it just doesn't seem to be doing the business with the public. But, as uncommercial as this seemed to me at first, if you played this and FourFiveSeconds last year and told me FFS would be a smash but this would flop I'd have laughed!

We can't fully write it off just now though I suppose...

Just feels way too late now, unless Radio jump on board suddenly this is going to have a rubbish peak. Tidal ruining the era already tbh..
"Bitch"entered the US top 20 at #19 this week and becomes Rih's 36th top 20 hit! :cheer:

I never expected this to be a huge hit or anything but missing the top 20 completely in the UK is just awful.

I'm sure she's got another single to release before the album drops which will snatch errryone's wevs like 45S

I've got this feeling she'll demote this to an urban single in the US and release a great pop song as the "actual" 2nd single for pop radio. One can pray because this seems to be flopping for now :(
Rihanna’s New Single Is Flopping: Should She Hire Iggy Azalea?

There is some major bad news for Rihanna. When she released her song “B*tch Better Have My Money” a couple weeks back, it immediately hit No. 1 on iTunes. It was a surprise, especially because the song garnered pretty bad reviews. The song had been received horribly on the Huffington Post and other sites.

“She can’t sing at all, sounds like a pitchy teenage girl trying to get ‘turnt up’ FOH. Still beautiful and a boss, but there’s a limit. lol,” said one Huffington Post user about Rihanna’s new song.

“I have to say, as a fan, I’m a little disappointed. This track does nothing for me,” said another poster.

The comments about Rihanna and her new single on the site Gossip Cop were similar.

“This is horrible. What happened to her saying the new music would be timeless. This is totally horrible and forgettable. As a fan of Rihanna I’m disappointed,” said a user named Shirl.

The comments weren’t much better on Twitter and Facebook. But it was thought that Rihanna had beaten the odds. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case and it looks like Rihanna may have her very first flop single, at least when compared to other lead singles from her albums. “B*tch Better Have My Money” is now at No. 16 on iTunes and dropping pretty fast. It made a splash at No. 23 last week on Billboard’s Hot 100, but Rihanna only moves up four spots to No. 19 this week. It wouldn’t be considered a flop for any other artist, but expectations are much higher for Rihanna.

Chart professionals at Pulse are shocked the song is not doing better. Airplay at pop music stations is starting to really slow down, even though the song did pick up nine adds this week. Perhaps Rihanna needs to go the Britney Spears route and hire Iggy Azalea. Britney Spears eventually stopped producing hits, but was smart enough to hire the Australian rapper for her next single “Pretty Girls,” which is receiving a lot of buzz.

According to Billboard, it’s not all bad for Rihanna. “B*tch Better Have My Money” gives Rihanna her 35th top 20 single. She is close to tying with Madonna, who has 44 top 20 singles. Eventually, Rihanna could tie with Elvis Presley, who has 48 top 20 singles. Rihanna is still young, so she can easily break the records.

Unfortunately, Rihanna is hitting a roadblock that a lot of female singers hit after four or five albums. It happened to Lady Gaga with ARTPOP, it’s starting to happen to Katy Perry, and Rihanna seems like she is following the trend. Let’s hope Rihanna can reinvent herself so she can keep producing No. 1 hits.

That last sentence, what moron wrote this.

What does Iggy have to do with this?

But I don't agree with the article that Rih is hitting a block. FourFiveSeconds did amazing and while Bitch Better Have My Money isn;t setting the charts alight, it really is a great song, just not very accesible/a tad marmite

I really wouldn't compare this era to Lady GaGa's, FourFiveSeconds has done better than all the ARTPOP singles combined. She's definitely not on Britney/JLo's level who need Iggy Azalea to get them attention.

Rihanna could definitely get another big smash from the upcoming album though, she needs to release it soon though as BBHMM is already dropping out of the charts

I'm pretty sure most people think of "FourFiveSeconds" as her lead single, regardless of what it "officially" is, as it's the first time they've heard her voice on the radio in a while. "BBHMM" just falls into the pattern of the less pop-friendly second single that doesn't stick at top 40. It's not like this is anything new for her; her campaigns always seem to me to be about throwing out a bunch of singles over the course of a few months and seeing what sticks (maybe because she always has one toe in urban radio so it works for her in the way it wouldn't for Katy or Gaga). She's had pop smashes come out of fourth or even fifth singles before so I don't see the point of the hand-wringing. Maybe it's the fact that she's been gone so long and people expect her to suddenly unleash like a thousand consecutive pop smashes.

Who wrote that and why is that person under the illusion that an Iggy Azalea duet can help a career? I think IA should focus on not flopping herself.

But then again, was BBHMM ever officially promoted as the second single? 'Cause I never considered it to be the official second single when she dropped it and I still don't. It looks more like a buzz single to me (and not saying that 'cause it's flopping ).

Although I do think she needs to get a manager again. She's too much in control. What I need from Rihanna is one mediocre album every year and a bunch of great hits to listen to.

i just expect something with some sense of direction. riri's team have had years to prepare a killer era perfectly poised and positioned and thus far everything feels somewhat listless and scrambled. unleashing 6/10 singles out of nowhere, 'four five' and 'bitch' lack any cohesion and i can't see how they'd work together on the same album. poles apart. no word on the album either, just get the f*** on with!
bitch better release that album

RIHANNA - Bitch Better Have My Money: 28.200 (+ 1.276)

Faring slightly better than I expected on US radio

This has gone top 20 on Spotify (I KNEW it would do well on streaming - those urban songs always seem to do really well on Spotify), so it might go back to the top 40.

#37 Dutch Top 100.

SLAYING.

No idea why it dropped out the week before though? Has it been added to Spotify this week?

Yup, I didn't even know the single top 100 used streams as well until I noticed Rih and Taylor flopping
