5 :ne: (Downloads Only!!) The Killers - When You Were Young

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/KILLERSCDSPRE.JPG

Chart-topping synth-rockers The Killers make their eagerly anticipated return with brand new single 'When You Were Young'. Branching out from the icy Anglophile sound of their debut album 'Hot Fuss', 'When You Were Young' draws folk influences from Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, amongst others, for a more Americana sound, whilst still retaining all the skycraping steely guitars and impossibly euphoric choruses to produce a wonderfully intoxicating dose of pop sophistication and rock 'n' roll exhilaration. 'When You Were Young' is the first single to be taken from The Killers' sophomore album, 'Sam's Town', named after a casino in their hometown of Las Vegas. - HMV

By the way that clip was from the 2006 MTV VMAs award show in which the Killers closed the show with that song.

Ironically, that performance came only moments after a party-crasher named "Six" briefly disrupted the show claiming MTV never gave him a show and got kicked out of the show when Jennifer Lopez gave the Best Video of The Year award to Panic At The Disco.

Anyway, The VMAs got their worst ratings since 1992.

Back to the Killers, This could pass the peak of their 2005 re-issue of "Somebody Told Me" which peak at #3 in which in which the first Elvis re-issue and Manic Street Preachers where in the top two for the week and then fell down the chart very fast.

Do any of you agree with Lily Allen :puke2: , that Nelly Furtado sounds like a "whale in distress"?

Lily Allen sounds like a spoilt brat with a Mockney accent who can't sing.

Oh wait...

3  (from 25) Fergie - London Bridge

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1707129.JPG

Fergie announced her arrival to the world with The Black Eyed Peas, but now - with her debut solo album 'The Dutchess' - it's Fergie's time to shine. London has always been a second home for the Peas, and Fergie is showing much love for the UK with her bangin' new single 'London Bridge'. With Fergie's familiar jaw-dropping vocals and sassy rapping. - HMV

track listing

* 1. London Bridge [Dirty Version]

* 2. London Bridge [instrumental]

Top 4 links (assuming Scissors are No.1...)

1. Scissor Sisters had the biggest selling album of 2004...

2. Justin had the biggest selling album of 2003...

3. Fergie duetted with Justin on Black Eyed Peas Where is the love...

4. Justin also features in the video to Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous

This Fergie track is an example of a track that I hated when I first heard it, but I've grown to love it!

Also shouldn't it be called Tower Bridge instead of London Bridge?

...

4. Justin also features in the video to Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous

Really? Where?

That Fergie song is awful.

I can imagine seeing her pushing a pram on a council esate with a fag hanging out of her mouth.

2 :right: (from 2) Justin Timberlake - SexyBack

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876886832.JPG

Out 28.8.2006

Having been away from the music scene for the last couple of years to pursue an acting career (apart from the odd cameo appearances on records with Snoop Dogg and Sergio Mendes), Justin Timberlake finally makes a dramatic return to the charts with the Timbaland-produced 'SexyBack'. Not so much a comeback as a mission statement, 'SexyBack' acts as a taster for Justin’s forthcoming album, 'FutureSex/ LoveSound', his second since he departed the boyband N*Sync, becoming one of the slickest male solo artists of the 21st century. With dirty and sleazy synth riffs, processed vocals and lyrics oozing sexual intentions, 'SexyBack' might well just be Pop Single of the Year. The track also goes some way to cement Timbaland's status of being 2006's hottest producer, which he already demonstrated on Nelly Furtado's 'Maneater'. - HMV
