I hate making posts like this, but i feel i need to here. It's so off-putting to see things like this run with such an iron-fist. The initial rules were ludicrous for some countries, putting them at a severe disadvantage and then when an idea is suggested by another member that practically everyone reading the thread agrees with, it is ignored for another set of rules that barely help the situation at all (and apparently make it WORSE for some countries?). The new rules are also gravely over-complicated, when the ones suggested where simple and everyone agreed with. This isn't just me moaning, because under the revised rules the song i want to send is allowed.

 

But the worst thing is that members politely asking for a change because it's currently very disadvatagous to some is met with this:

after you previously saying "So how does this sound then?". Why ask us for an opinion if you're not going to change the rules anyway? And at least offer an explanation so we can understand where the rules have come from.

 

A little lightening up and accepting other people's opinions would really help and make people feel better about entering something which is always valued as ALL INCLUSIVE and welcoming. It sets it off an a really sour note when some countries are very badly affected by the rules and it will taint the entire thing going forward. This is just for this spin-off btw, the work you guys do usually as mods is always so tight but there is clearly a demand for a bit of leniency here which i don't think is too unwarranted especially from members who care a lot about the competition!
