Good to see Adam Lambert making a decent debut in the top 750, considering he's never been big over here and only had one top 20 album and two top 40 singles. The song is really good as well I think, took a couple of listens but now I'm into it

I think Preach will chart in the top 40, but whereabouts who knows? Its honestly good enough for a top 10 and its getting extensive support from radio and TV. The production is fantastic! I'd class it as pop/R&B like Somebody and Problem but it won't do as well as those.

59. Carly Rae Jepsen - I really Like You

:D

It's looking to be a pretty big hit even if it goes only chart at #3

Hozier - Someone New  52 & 169. Really liking this and prefer it a lot more over TMTC so I hope top 40 ain't out of reach for this :)

Wish Ed would release something upbeat like Nine or as someone else said Runaway - both better choices!
I don't think Rihanna's personality, attitude or behaviour has changed at all. Like somebody said, she's always come across quite carefree and arrogant. What probably has changed is that she's made it quite clear recently that she wants to spend time making more authentic music which has a bit of depth to it, rather than raking in cash for Def Jam by releasing predictable dancey pop time after time. In terms of her commercial success this time around, it might not be the best idea, but in terms of her artistry, it's a bold move.

It may just be me but I don't think 'FourFiveSeconds' and 'Bitch Better Have My Money' are either authentic or deep. 'American Oxygen' had potential but the production is piss poor. It actually sounds like a demo. I just find it annoying because, as someone else has mentioned, she has so much potential and it is being wasted. If she wants to go down this bad-bitch-with-a-f**k-you-attitude route then that is fine but at least back it up through quality music. It's nothing to do with the genre of music. I can guess what Rihanna was trying to do with BBHMM but I think she failed. It sounds unfinished. I actually love urban Rihanna - Birthday Cake, Cockiness and Pour It Up are all favourites of mine - but when she's released amazing songs before for 8 years straight, it's frustrating that she's lost it when she's had more time to get it right than all of the other one-year periods where she had to rush release albums.

Little bit surprised by this, I was expecting the 2nd single to flop ala Gotye and Passenger

Is that remix not a pre-order?

Is that remix not a pre-order?

Nope, they released the remixes EP yesterday (or a day ago) randomly.

Poor Conor, I still think he's gonna miss the Top 40 with this.

I think that's a given now. Seems like new entries get knocked down around 50% of their sales position by streaming. For example, if you chart at 20 on sales, you'll probably chart 10 places lower with streaming factored in, so you'd end up around the 30 mark.

Conor I can imagine is gonna chart at about 28 on sales. So I think he'll be no higher than 42 officially. Ouch.

This is now getting strong Radio 1, Capital and Kiss Fm support, so I was expecting it to be doing slightly better.

It should steadily climb now until release. Its getting heavier support than Dance On My Own ever did, so in theory it should do better than that did.
