Released as the second single from the huge 'Graduation', 'Stronger' is a triumphant song. Boldly sampling the huge Daft Punk, in a rare moment of humbleness, Kanye actually claims that he doesn't come close to matching the original song. He pulls it off very well in my opinion and the song has since gone on to become one of his most well-known and iconic numbers. Produced ad-infinitum and mixed to within an inch of its life, it's a roaring set of verses, that explosive chorus and the thumping beat. And its performance globally reflected that, topping the charts in the UK and the US and becoming a huge hit for him commercially, racking up awards at the Grammys and helping to create a new wave of electronic urban music it rightfully assumes its place in your top 10 Kanye singles.

Am I the only one missing something about Runaway? Only noticed it was even in this poll a few rounds back & I have literally no recollection of it, even after giving it a listen. So to see it up there with all those others is slightly amusing.

'Love Lockdown' unsurprisingly. Don't mind 'Black Skinhead' going now tbh, my second least fav here.

 

'Power' needs to be left alone until it gets crowned the winner (if 'Jesus Walks' can't do it).

I'd say Runaway is one of his strongest songs lyrically, but also that piano line on its own is just spine-chilling. It's the song that made me into a fan.

 

I suppose I have to vote Gold Digger now. Just too overplayed that I never look forward to hearing it, as iconic as it is.

Anyway, really strange to see Runaway pick up so many votes last round and coming second, meaning it should technically be favourite to go this round, and yet 1 vote? Not that I am complaining as I want all of the MBDTF singles to be left alone. Just very strange voting patterns that's all :lol:
