October 26, 201212 yr Official lyric video has been uploaded to Leona's VEVO: z5W-NkFxS-Y  One of my favourite lyric videos I've seen, the way it changes into the last chorus feels like such a moment! Fantastic!! Leona's also confirmed to perform on Children In Need too next month! :cheer: Edited October 26, 201212 yr by Ryan741
October 26, 201212 yr It is the most special song o this album (although not the catchiest). Has some surprisingly good lyrics in it :) Plus, it is a nice Christmas tune and becomes very powerful towards the end. I do not care if it charts well, I love everything about it and I believe these kind of songs will always be closer to what Leona is as an artist in contrast to outta my head etc. And of course this is what I like about her as well. My guess is they didn't want Glassheart to be 1st or 2nd single because it would be difficult to stage it on XF without Leona doing some spectacular dancing but she is not the dancer-kind.. I could be 3rd single instead (XF will be over by then) so that she wont have to do any apperances in big stages where people would expect a 'Where have you been' dance.
October 27, 201212 yr If any song is going to sell the album it will be this! I just don't think radio will play it much which is a shame. It's a truly gorgeous song. I love the single mix too, louder strings and some different vocals at the end. :)

October 28, 201212 yr I just cant see this doing anything on radio which is my big worry. Hope the video is amazing, and I know the live performances will be. Leona is ill at the moment though which isnt good..hopefully recovers asap. Edited October 28, 201212 yr by Karma
October 30, 201212 yr Registered 15 plays yesterday on Compare My Radio. Stations are now starting to spin this!
November 5, 201212 yr Where is the build up for this? No news on the video, not even any pictures. Has it been playlisted on ANY radio station? I'm just confused by this whole single situation...
November 5, 201212 yr ..So according to twitter apparently Leona has just said at Oxford Street 'Lovebird' is the new single? Even more confusion...

It's being played on radio. It currently has ~1.06mil audience and has been seeing steady increases over the last 5 days. I'm confused at the moment too, with Leona apparantley saying "Lovebird" is the next single.
November 5, 201212 yr I hope its not 'Lovebird'. I love the song, but 'Fireflies' is just incredible! Just so we know, Leona confirmed on Twitter on 24th October that it was 'Fireflies' and we already have an amazing lyric video. Surely they aren't going to throw this away? Edited November 5, 201212 yr by Ryan741
November 6, 201212 yr I hope its not 'Lovebird'. I love the song, but 'Fireflies' is just incredible! Just so we know, Leona confirmed on Twitter on 24th October that it was 'Fireflies' and we already have an amazing lyric video. Surely they aren't going to throw this away? They could be going for a Double-A-Side release perhaps? Like they did with Better In Time/Footprints In The Sand. Or Leona accidently said new single, when she meant new song (as in new song from the album).
November 6, 201212 yr 'Lovebird' is ridiculously catchy! It's also very good and a nice mid-tempo, feel good pop song. In the same vein as 'Better In Time'.
November 6, 201212 yr It's now confirmed that "Lovebird" is indeed the second single and that they won't be going ahead with "Fireflies".
November 6, 201212 yr It's now confirmed that "Lovebird" is indeed the second single and that they won't be going ahead with "Fireflies". Fireflies is really special, Lovebirds is a nicely polished deja-vu imo. Wrong choice once more... Lovebirds is a good song with a catchy chorus of course but it is not special in any way. Hopefully it will turn out well in the end. Edited November 6, 201212 yr by 7heDreamer

And airplay is something that Leona has lacked so far, so it could be a good move. Plus, it seems to be one of the most popular tracks from Glassheart. The demo form that leaked has over 350k views: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNBqcSuk604 I honestly think it is a good choice.

The demo of it has leaked a long time ago. I listened to this song (the demo version) about 14 months ago for the first time, so it is no wonder it has collected so many views. Do not get me wrong, I like lovebirds but it is too much like 'Better in Time' and is not any news for Leona. It is a good wrap-up of what she's been in the past. Fireflies is a special modern ballad of what she is now imo as an artist. You could expect that a mid-tempo like Lovebirds would attract radioplay but Trouble didn't. Looks like a lot more than just the radio stations have lost interest over who Leona is and a deja-vu song cannot do anything against this. People need to see her reinvented side, some steps forward (and the album IS a lot of steps forward damn it!) but Lovebirds is not. If the first single was a success she could follow with Lovebirds indeed because we fans love it but I fear the rest won't even get a glimpse of it in this 'snobbery' climate.
