The exceptional fourth single from his debut album showed the world that he meant business. Tackling the hugely important issues of religion, race and ourselves. Kanye's prayer was not of solitude or forgiveness, it's a damning report about his life, his music and the world around him. An incredibly powerful song with a rousing chorus and devilishly catchy hook. Accompanied with 3 music videos the entire project was relentless. Earning Grammy wins, global recognition for the song and chart success it cemented his place on the music scene. He has come along way since then, and it's perhaps the most poingant song he has ever done, especially with the birth of Yeezus and the full circle that he has taken musically and personally. A triumphant song in so many ways. #7 is GOOD but not good enough.

Going with All of the Lights now, for all it's features, it's far from his most memorable. I'm kinda surprised Love Lockdown/Heartless have made it this far, I didn't think they were that highly regarded amongst his discography (but I'm glad as they're definitely amongst my faves from him).

In all seriousness though, I am glad that it managed a decent top 10 placing, despite it clearly deserving to win the whole thing.
