Chelsea are now 13 points behind 4th place with a much worse goal difference than the 4th placed team so the only way they'll get into the Champions League next season is if they repeat their feat of 2011/2012 or if they do exactly what they did in the 2012/13 season if they finish 3rd in their Champions League group next month before going on to win the Europa League.

13 points is irrelevant when Leicester are in the top four because they won't stay there.

They probably still won't do it though. I was sure they'd win yesterday but something is just not going for them at the moment.

Plus you can't look at it as just bridging a 14 point gap to 4th, that would disregard the performance of every single team in between them who may also climb in (e.g. Spurs or Liverpool). It is forever a moving target.

For Chelsea to get to the top 4 though, they would have to produce title winning form between now and the end of the season. AND hope that Liverpool/Spurs (who would naturally now be favourites for 4th spot) to hit patches of bad form. I don't think it's sustainable personally. But on paper they have a nice run of fixtures now up until the end of December. Is paramount they pick up results though.

I do wonder if/when Leicester will fall away? Crazy they have even sustained their form for this long!

Leicester have an extremely difficult run of fixtures in December (although given who they've beaten so far what even is difficult for them at the moment?)

They certainly won't be able to keep up this run of scoring in every single game I'm sure of.

Must have posted that at the same time! It's a massive battle for Chelsea. They need to beat Spurs away in a couple of weeks for sure. Massive task for them now

Well I keep waiting for Vardy to lose form.. but it doesn't show any signs of happening at the moment! I can't say I've been watching much of them, bar highlights, so I can't tell if they're winning comfortably or riding their luck on quite a few occasions.

They definitely got lucky yesterday, Gomes might as well have just thrown the ball in the net for their first.

I think Liverpool will finish in the top 4 instead of Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp will inspire them towards it. I really hope Mourinho doesn't get sacked as the Premier League wouldn't be the same without him.

Thank goodness that Manchester City dropped points against Aston Villa, even if Arsenal win today at least the gap on Man City is reduced for Man Utd now.

I just realised that Tottenham have only lost once so far in the league this season and that was due to an own goal from Kyle Walker.

Won't get top 4 is we lose to dross like Crystal Palace :D That said I expect under Klopp this season, our away form to be better than home form until we get used to his style.

A brilliant weekend for United with all our major rivals dropping points (except Leicester :P)

As we have the Saturday Lunchtime KO next time out a win would put us top, chances are we'll screw it up with a draw though.

Great weekend for Man Utd. Still say though your lack of goals will be costly. That said, find it amazing how Van Gaal is getting slated. Not sure the grass is greener.. certainly not with Giggs that's for sure!

Man United's defence is possibly the best in the league at the moment but it's in attack that we're lacking at the moment. If our attack was as good as our defence we would undoubtedly be top of the table now but hopefully that will improve in time.

I would still say that Manchester City will win the league this season but I hope that i'll be wrong about that.

If Silva & Aguero stay fit, City will walk the league. Well if Aguero can stay for for half the games at least!

Van Gaal sets Man Utd up not to concede firstly, which they have been very good at. There's great shape. Problem is setting up your team that way really limits attacking prowess. That said as good as your defence is, Berahino should have scored yesterday!

That chance Berahino had yesterday made me laugh, it was like he was scared of the ball or something

Palace are hardly dross... as their recent record against Liverpool shows. ;)

Tottenham looked impressive today, especially now Harry Kane is scoring again. Even Away-Day specialists West Ham will struggle against them in two weeks time.

Palace are a limited side, but they do what they have done bar when they had Warnock managing them.. just let Bolasie/Zaha/Gayle run at us :D Frustrating.

There was a great article in the Independent yesterday by Danny Higginbotham explaining why United are struggling to score when Rooney plays as a Number 9 - unlike when City have Bony up top, they don't have enough men running beyond him and taking advantage of his link-up play. Rooney plays best when he has others running beyond him, and that doesn't necessarily mean he needs to stop playing as a centre forward as long of the likes of Lingard and Martial are instructed to run in past him. Unfortunately Van Gaal seems to like using Herrera as a Number 10 and Mata on the wing which stops that from happening.

Good weekend for United unfort! Was hoping they wouldn't win the league this ur so it would be the first time they've went 4 seasons without a title since 1989-93 period. Think they have a real chance tho as I think Arsenal and City are soft at times whereas the mancs have a more solid look.

Spurs look a decent bet for a top 4 spot but Chelsea will come back into it as once the champions league ends the 'surprise packages' usually fade a bit and end up 5-8th spot.

Former Sunderland, Manchester City & Tottenham goalkeeper Márton Fülöp has died at the age of 32 from cancer.

R.I.P to him, such a sad loss at a young age!

Jamie Vardy has now equalled Ruud Van Nistelrooy's goal-scoring record of 10 games in a row!
