I wish we'd at least have Thunder as single #2 here. From what I've heard it's better than I Am.

 

I'll have to wait until I hear "I Am" in full, but think it could work as a single in the UK.

 

Personally I can't wait until "I Got You" or "Another Love Song" are released. I think those are the two songs that scream singles. Hope "I Got You" is released as second single US/3rd single UK & "Another Love Song" as 3rd US single/4th UK single.

I don't like Thunder. It's really far too bland to be a single at all, let alone the lead single in the US! I really don't understand some of the decisions they're making. Almost everything we've heard so far is stronger than this.

People could say the same about Sam Smith's 'Stay With Me' and that went to #2 in the US.

Well this is utterly diabolical, less so than Fire Under My Feet though, so there's that. She's totally lost it.

I really like Thunder, it sounds melodically stronger than FUMF.

I like it, I don't think it sounds like a massive hit, but it could become a moderate hit in the US if radio and promo are on point.

Th chorus is good, well really it's all nice but it's pretty bland as a whole. To me it doesn't sound like a lead single at all after a few listen, it sounds like the sort of thing that'd be a radio single towards the end of the era and peak at like #27 in the Adult Contemporary chart.

I really love it. I can see why some of you aren't keen on it. It's in the same vein as 'Stay With Me' etc and I'm not normally a fan of those kind of songs. I think Leona's voice and the amazing lyrics hook me. I can also see your point Liam about it not really sounding like a lead single but 'Stay With Me' was Sam's lead in the US and I don't really think that screams lead single either (although some may disagree).

Yeah like for example I'm not a real fan of 'Rolling in the Deep' and obviously FUMF sounds similar to it but I like it more because Leona's vocals are amazing.

I have listened to this several times and I like everything about it, the lyrics are good and the melody is very memorable. I love the eh heys in the song and it gives it added attraction. It is very recognisable as a Leona song and her vocals are just sublime.

Leona's got the MLB All-Star Gala tonight where she will be performing. Hopefully someone records her likely performance of 'Thunder'. I need to hear it live!

Hope we get some footage from it! Tomorrow Leona's US radio tour should start, so excited!

Much more melodic and nicer and more on point with the MOR crowd.

Right I like it.. But i dont know if its going to work.. I can see why they are putting it out in the US aswell as the artwork being very simlar to the Spirt Du verison.

 

Its an OK track.. But by time album comes it could be one you wont go out your way to listen too if that makes sense to me it sounds like a good album track more than anything.

 

If Defjam think itll work then great but dont want to get my hopes up incase it goes all wrong but i have faith in them Cant say a bad word about them as of yet.

longs they dont mess up the dates like Island did.

I think it's a really great song. I think it's definitely recognisable. Some of the accidentals and adlibs really give it a signature sound. I think it's a really strong track. For me it comes together really well. FUMF had all the right individual parts but sounded wrong when you put it together. It was missing a bit of magic that could bind all of the instruments. This sounds cohesive. From what I've heard of I Am, I don't know that it's going to have a huge impact but I've got no idea what they've got planned. Either way, I really like what I've heard of this I Am, Ladders and I Got You.

 

Essence of Me I found a bit bland, but I know others found Thunder bland so it's all relative. But I don't like EoM at all. Power sounds good vocally but not to my taste - it definitely sounds interesting though. I think Leona's voice has a tone to it which is coming through really well on the tracks, particularly on Ladders, I Am and Thunder. Really looking forward to hearing more now.
