October 16, 20159 yr I would love Wolf Alice to get it  Even if Florence is my album of the year so far  Edited October 16, 20159 yr by Ezra's Whore
October 16, 20159 yr I don't particularly care but out of that lot I would like Jamie XX to win. Pleasantly surprised to see Aphex Twin there and all Florence deserves is a lifetime of Noel Fielding impersonations.
October 16, 20159 yr Shocked Everything Everything didn't get nominated :o I actually thought they were going to win it! Wolf Alice to win hopefully, by far the best album there and easily one of my favourites of the year
October 17, 20159 yr Hoping Florence gets it because it really is a big step up from Ceremonials from me. Wolf Alice would be an excellent choice too though. SOAKs album was quite nice, she has a really nice relaxing little thing going on but I sort of forgot to go back to it, same with Slaves but I think that is definitely the better album, they'd be good winners too!
October 17, 20159 yr Jamie xx for me off that list then.. haven't heard the C Duncan album but “Garden” is single of the year material so will definitely be checking it out now.
October 17, 20159 yr Florence or Jamie xx for me, I don't think Wolf Alice have a chance of winning this, if they pull it off, I'll be totally amazed.
October 17, 20159 yr Jamie xx for me. Quite underwhelming, and I don't think Florence's album was her best by a long run and Everything Everything deserved a nomination for sure.
October 20, 20159 yr Would love to see C Duncan win it - great wee album. Or for Aphex Twin to pick it up after such a long time at it. Ghostpoet would be cool too. But it'll be something I don't really get like Jamie XX or SOAK. Didn't think a great deal of the Wolf Alice album. One or two decent songs but their sound has been horribly diluted since their early EPs.
November 20, 20159 yr Happening tonight :o (BBC Four at 9.30 if anyone wants to catch it) Odds: 11/4 Benjamin Clementine 3/1 Jamie xx 8/1 Eska 11/1 Wolf Alice 12/1 Ghostpoet 12/1 Aphex Twin 14/1 SOAK 16/1 Slaves 16/1 Roisin Murphy 16/1 C Duncan 20/1 Gaz Coombes 25/1 Florence + The Machine I really liked the Ghostpoet & Wolf Alice albums (from the ones I hadn't heard before the list reveal) :D Jamie xx/Ghostpoet/Benjamin seem the most likely contenders imo, and i'd be happy with any of those~
November 21, 20159 yr Benjamin's album was the one I bought when the shortlist was first announced and it's deceptive. It sounds great from the previews, Antony & the Johnsons style great, but the lyrics are just awful when you listen to it - like so bad they're laughable.
November 21, 20159 yr I can't say I've heard everything but, from those I have, Florence and Jamie XX are by far the best there.
November 21, 20159 yr I just think his voice is really meh. Just sounds like Antony Hegarty and I really don't like his voice either. Just sounds really put on and false - not natural at all
November 23, 20159 yr I didn't even hear that the prize had been awarded this weekend...and I've never heard of the winner. Managed about 45 seconds of 'London' on Youtube before I had to switch it off.
