Great sales for Years & Years on the album front. They might make 50k by Friday then.

Looks like Sam Feldt could possibly keep the #2 and Lost Frequencies could push Shine down to #4!

Looking at those sales I could see Avicii as low at #7/#8 unless streaming is included

I think Y&Y can sell more, in some places its End of term already, its sold 12k yesterday

Question... What do you lot think, if they kept the show on Sunday and tallied the count up to Saturday night as before, with the two days sales of Little Mix for example from the new Friday Release day, would have Little Mix be Number 1 this week to match what was revealed as number 1 on the BT40 show on Sunday Night.

If so they have missed a trick in being a chart even more up to date than the one they released on Friday.

Wow, I would have been fairly impressed with that figure for Years & Years if it was their full week's total. I really had no idea how their popularity would translate into album sales but 'Shine' has clearly done a great job of sustaining the momentum they had with 'King'/the 'Sound Of...' hype at the start of the year. A pretty perfectly executed campaign so far, which is pleasing as I can't get enough of the album. :D

A top 4 of Lost Frequencies, Sam Feldt, Years & Years and Little Mix surely must be up there with the worst ever. :/ :/ 'Black Magic' is the best of the 4 but still probably my least favourite thing they've released so far...

And Sam Feldt is going to beat the original (#6) peak of 'Show Me Love' :/

Definitely! Was completely expecting those sort of sales for the full week! I don't think it actually sold 12k since yesterday, more that missing data was included, but it looks like they could beat the 64k that James Bay's album sold in its first week.

well at least it looks like there's going to be some spotify data in the charts this week ^_^

go y&y slay all bases~ :cheer: :w00t: :cheer:

Boo at "Thinking Out Loud", "Take Me To Church" and "Love Me Like You Do" being on course to re-enter. At least TOL and TMTC should be pushed out of the top 40 at the end of the month by the NOW 91 effect but LMLYD will benefit from it
A #14 start for Prides' album seems alright considering their Radio 1 support has translated to pretty much negligible downloads for their singles, hope they can hold onto the top 20. Becoming really obsessed with 'Messiah' again right now.

The Prodigy's album back in the top 30! :o Anyone know the reason for this climb?

T In The Park

Surprised so many people want Spotify addition in the official UK charts. I don't think the same way they do because I don't want to see boring songs 50/60 weeks in the charts. I'm praying Spotify is not included anymore.

I expected them to only just get to #1, not dominate like this! :o

Ahh that would make sense. Good good ~

It's been advertised as 4.99 on iTunes all week (though they've taken the deal down today)

Little Boots will miss the top 40  and will probably be lucky to stay within the top 75.

I had wondered the same in relation to the Prodigy.

Only the biggest hits get huge amounts of weeks in the top 40 with streaming - there are loads of songs that get 3 weeks in the top 40 still.

Even if so, it wouldn't make a difference long-term, as without chart inclusion, record companies would likely switch their big artists to Apple, and the big chart-slowing 'sales' would come from them instead.

I don't think that's the reason why people want Spotify included. More along the lines that if you're going to record and document something "official", then everything that's in the rules should be included.
