July 16, 201510 yr The problem with Something New for me is that it feels like someone has gone to the Xenomania vaults and taken an all you can eat buffet approach to writing it and taken EVERY SINGLE bit they thought sounded good. It doesn't totally work. Part of the beauty of Xeno at their peak was the sense that it was all quite mish mash and directionless, but it clearly was even more thought out and crafted than your usual pop song. Something New just doesn't feel like that at all.
July 17, 201510 yr I just can't when I see ranks with Call the Shots towards the bottom! :snif: Such a majestic moment in pop. It's just... undeniably fantastic. :heart: At least, I think it should be undeniable! Oh well. :arrr: I find it quite weird that 'Something New' is so divisive. The 'Ten' era may have been a bit of a mess, ending on a sour note... but I feel like it was worth mainly because they gave us that song (and 'On the Metro').
