They are trying to find a middle way between leave and remain partly because they think it's right and partly because they have a more mixed electoral coalition to gain power.

To the surprise of precisely nobody, the Guardian and Mirror are the only papers to mention the NHS story on their front page. Equally predictably, none of them mention Johnson’s reluctance to be interviewed by Andrew Neil. However, the Telegraph (a former newspaper) does accuse Corbyn of running scared.

Johnson, of course, does have a problem with the concept of accountability. In over four months as PM, he has attended PMQs just three times. He was due to appear before the Commons Liaison Committee (comprising the chairs of the Select Committees) in September but dodged that by unlawfully proroguing parliament. Even after parliament reconvened, he ducked out it on a number of subsequent occasions.

We have a head of state who has never given an interview in over 60 years in the job. One reason she is able to get away with that is that she has very little power. That power is vested in parliament and the PM. Now we have a PM who thinks he should be no more accountable than the queen.

Ludlow Tory candidate made 'shocking' turban remark

A Conservative general election candidate told a rival at a debate he was "talking through his turban".

Tory Philip Dunne is seeking to be returned as MP for the Shropshire constituency of Ludlow and was speaking during hustings in Church Stretton on Wednesday evening.

Labour candidate Kuldip Sahota said he was "shocked and deeply hurt" by Mr Dunne's words.

The Conservative party has been contacted for comment.

More racism abound in the Tory camp

And yet the BBTory will not blare it out across its news programmes.

Yet the BBC was a source for the story?

They always have anti Tory stories hidden away. Their social media, i.e Laura's twitter, and their bbc news bulletins have very different "news".
Will it lead to Laura Kuenssberg wondering over the course of several tweets about how Johnson is going to have to apologise for racism in the Tory party? Will it contribute towards a front-line story for the papers about the rot of racism endemic in the Conservative party? I think we all know the answer will be no.

So, who *should* be in charge of their editorial priorities - you?

How about somebody who understands the meaning of the word “balance”? That would be a good start.

As always we run into the problem of 'quis custodiet ipsos custodes' though. Not to mention the whole issue of telling the media what they can/can't publish...

It is pretty clear that current BBC coverage is not balanced. Only someone who thinks that the Daily Mail is scrupulously fair would dispute that.

I've never stated the BBC's coverage is as impartial as it is supposed to be.

So in essence what you're doing is needlessly playing the devil's advocate - or in layman's terms, trolling. Glad we've cleared that up.

Boris's dad has just insulted the British public live on TV. :o

Stanley Johnson on Victoria Derbyshire now on BBC2. Joanna Gosling tells him 'one viewer has rung in and called Boris Pinocchio' Stanley says 'that would require the British public to have a degree of literacy which I don't think they have'.

He then said the BBC shouldn't be allowed to read out messages calling the serving PM a liar.

I do like this Tweet.

Lib Dems - pledged to revoke article 50 - sinking fast

Change UK - created to overturn Brexit - sunk without trace

Labour - pledged second referendum - treading water

There’s a lesson here. Try to subvert our democracy and the voters will punish you.

How is *not* saying something 'trolling'?

But he IS. Pathologically.

He created that monster.
