July 24, 20159 yr Author 11. Jessie J feat. 2 Chainz - Burnin' Up (6.65) So just averaging more than 'Who's Laughing Now' and the final track to fail to make the Jessie top 10 is 'Burnin' Up'. Originally set up as the follow up to the massive 'Bang Bang', it was said when announced that due to being another collaboration, Jessie could get the ball rolling and was certainly going for another hit single. However, due to the singles post-'Bang Bang' being an absolute mess during the 'Sweet Talker' era, the single release was not pushed fully, which left the second single in the shadow of its predecessor. Personally, I think this had real hit potential, when I first heard it I thought it seemed like another massive pop song. The video cements my love for it, with Jessie looking the best she's ever looked and showing us that she can really dance. H7iLIAD27Pk
July 24, 20159 yr Author Will not be on here tomorrow as I have my cousins wedding to attend but will be continuing and counting down the top 10 come Sunday. The top 10 consists of: Do It Like A Dude Price Tag Nobody's Perfect Who You Are Domino Wild Thunder Bang Bang Masterpiece Flashlight
July 25, 20159 yr I'm not a major fan of either of those so better they've come out now than the better ones!
July 25, 20159 yr Burnin' Up was the big hit that never was. The song and the video scream smash to me, but it just never got the support it deserved!
July 26, 20159 yr Author So let's get into our top 10 Jessie singles: 10. Jessie J - Flashlight (6.73) So falling out at #10 is the newest single from Jessie, in the shape of 'Flashlight'. The song is not featured on any of her albums, and was instead used as a soundtrack to the new film 'Pitch Perfect 2'. Seeing as the hit-makers behind the song include Sia and Sam Smith, as well as the heavy inclusion of the song in the film itself, the song was the first follow up from 'Bang Bang' to see Jessie back in the charts. The song peaked at #13 on the UK Singles Charts, and charted highly in many other countries as well. For me, it's a good soundtrack song but not near one of her best, so I am glad it's not got much higher than this, despite how current it is. DzwkcbTQ7ZE
July 26, 20159 yr 'Burnin' Up' really should've been given a proper push. It was such a smash in the waiting! A performance of that instead of 'Bang Bang' on the XF would and could have done wonders for it I think! 'Flashlight' is a FIRM favourite from her for me now. Absolutely love it and it somehow makes a bigger impression on me the more times I hear it. Such a gorgeous song!
July 27, 20159 yr Author 09. Jessie J - Masterpiece (6.98) So continuing the run of Jessie's newest singles to fall out of the rate is 'Masterpiece', the fourth single from 'Sweet Talker'. The release of this was just as confused as the rest of the era, with her announcing 'Burnin' Up' as the single and then going on to promote this at the time on Graham Norton. The strategy was far clearer across the pond, where she focused on promoting the song on many different shows including The Voice USA, and as a result it reached the top 40 on US iTunes on a few occasions, finally settling for a Billboard peak of #65. It was also successful in many parts of Europe, becoming a top 10 hit in Germany, as well as making waves in Australia at #14. It is a shame the release here seemed to be so half baked as its success in other countries surely showed it had the potential to do decently in what was previously her biggest market? PTOFEgJ9zzI
July 27, 20159 yr I actually like "Burnin' Up" it deserved much more success than it did, like I already said "Bang Bang" overshadowed everything else from that era. "Flashlight" is okay, but doesn't deserve to be that high, and "Masterpiece" another that deserved better, at least it made an impact worldwide. I think either "Bang, Bang", "Nobody's Perfect" or "Thunder" will be out next, or they will at least be the next 3 out.

I would've though Bang Bang would be a lot higher since it seemed to have a lot of love for it last year! Although I'm not much of a fan of it myself.
July 27, 20159 yr Author Acidburn's prediction is right so far, as at number 8 we have... 08. Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect (7.46) It's time to say goodbye to the third single from Jessie's biggest selling album 'Who You Are'. Coming off the back of a #01 and a #02 hit, there was pressure to keep the momentum going of the first era with the release of the third single, and they seemed to do so very decently with the release of a very memorable song from Jessie. The wonderful Alice in Wonderland themed video saw this slowly climb the charts until it became her third top 10 single, peaking at #09 and selling very decently as it descended again. I loved this song the moment I heard it, and I still think it's a great pop song. I would have loved to see this get a few places higher on this rate, but I can understand that it maybe isn't for everyone. A few very low scores towards the end of the rate took the song's average down considerably. aSZVYZTze74
July 27, 20159 yr "Nobody's Perfect" is very decent and definitely one of the strong points from her first album and ranks at about the right place here. I think maybe "Thunder" will be out next. Edited July 27, 20159 yr by Acidburn
July 27, 20159 yr Nobody's Perfect and Flashlight are my Jasy J top 2 ever tbh, wish they both finished higher
July 28, 20159 yr Author Possibly a surprising result for many but out next we have... 07. Jessie J feat. B.o.B. - Price Tag (7.65) Yes, Jessie's most recognisable song only manages to be ranked as her 7th best single on here. 'Price Tag', along with 'Bang Bang' remains her biggest global hit to date, with it selling well over 1,000,000 copies in the UK alone, charting at #01 for 2 consecutive weeks. The song certainly sent Jessie's profile skyrocketing at the time, with 'Do It Like A Dude' mainly being a local hit whereas this undeniable smash charted in almost every country around the world. The only real explanation for it being so low is that you guys must have got sick of the overplay of the song on radio stations like Capital, however it became a massive hit for a reason - it is just a perfect pop song. Although it is not my favourite by her, a Jessie top 5 without 'Price Tag' seems like a strange one to me. In fact, when adding up the scores it was sat in second place for a good amount of the time, but a few extremely low scores later on in the rate saw it rapidly fall. qMxX-QOV9tI
July 28, 20159 yr Author 06. Jessie J - Who You Are (7.73) Just missing out on a place in the top 5 is the title track from Jessie's debut album, 'Who You Are'. Her best known big ballad was released as the 5th single of the era finally after many fans had been asking for it to be made a single as early as the start of the era. Possibly Jessie's most emotional and meaningful song, it really does make an impression of anyone who hears it, good or bad. The song was given a boost by heavy promotion on X Factor 2011, with two performances from contenstant Misha B, and one from Jessie herself. This sent the song as high as #08 in the UK Singles Chart, becoming her 4th top 10 single at this point. Although I didn't expect it to win, due to the many complaints of her screechy vocals from many non-fans, I have to say I am so gutted it hasn't even managed to make the top 5. Lyrically and melodically I think it is by far the best thing she has done, and was certainly the song that REALLY made me fall in love with Jessie. To me, it will always be her best. j2WWrupMBAE
July 28, 20159 yr Author So so far we have had: 06. Who You Are (7.73) 07. Price Tag (7.65) 08. Nobody’s Perfect (7.46) 09. Masterpiece (6.98) 10. Flashlight (6.73) 11. Burnin’ Up (6.65) 12. Who’s Laughing Now? (6.60) 13. It’s My Party (6.35) 14. Sweet Talker (6.23) 15. Laserlight (6.17) 16. Up (5.92) 17. Remember Me (5.24) 18. Silver Lining (Crazy ‘Bout You) (5.10) 19. Calling All Hearts (4.33) Meaning that the top 5 still to come are: Do It Like A Dude Domino Wild Thunder Bang Bang Any prediction of the order in which they fall?
July 28, 20159 yr Hope Wild wins. The only great track remaining though I do like Do It Like A Dude & Domino too. The others can sod off...
July 28, 20159 yr 'Nobody's Perfect' is among her best for me, though is very much let down by the 'I guess karma comes back around' insight. :hithead: I agree with the commentary that 'Who You Are' is great lyrically and melodically. I just much prefer any other version to the original as Jessie's oversinging is at its absolute worst on that one. 'Wild' FTW :cheer:
