This is incredibly disapointing on first listen.

However, I wasn't keen on 'Anything Could Happen' for a while before it became one of my favourite songs so we'll see. I do think this should be more instant though.

This isn't what I wanted or expected from either of them. I've not been a BIG fan of Ellie, she has some great songs, but this is not one of them. It's far too simple for the biggest pop artist in the UK. I like it/it's not exactly bad, it's just average and I think this year has been ridiculously strong for pop songs which are simple, but effective. 'Heartbeat Song' being a good comparison.

This is after only one listen though, hopefully it'll grow.

Pretty average. Her singer-songwriter feels are certainly a thing of the past.
It's catchy but the hook verges on annoying. Think I prefer the verses and I agree with the general consensus that it's good but nothing spectacular.

Some of the lyrics and the fast-paced delivery of the verses almost sound like a response to 'Don't' :o. Something quite Ed Sheeran about it all anyway.

I'm not blown away by this but it's sounding better with each listen. The repetition in the chorus seemed lazy and weak at first but it's beginning to work for me now (which is reminiscent of the turnaround I had to 'Anything Could Happen', as has been said, but I'd imagine it'd be to a smaller degree). Need to hear the song in HQ to properly judge the production and some of the vocals, as parts seem a bit off. I'm impressed overall though and definitely anticipating the album more as a result.

I really like this but the one thing that annoys me is how messy the production sounds in the chorus. The hook is good and I LOVE the verses and production otherwise, it's just that it sounds a bit jarring in some ways and not entirely in time :drama: I think it will be a bit better when I get used to it though.

DS did an article that matched up certain lyrics with this to ones of Don't, and it fit, you're probably right :kink:

I'm not sure about this. It might sounds better in HQ, but it just sounds a little basic.

I really like it, but the chorus definitely feels like a bit of a non-event. Repeated choruses are often that for me (Burn, for example) but she has proved she can adjust the melody and turn it into a megahook before (Anything Could Happen, Love Me Like You Do). I feel it has potential to grow.

More pleasingly though, production wise it sounds like this album might not be a total departure from her best stuff of the past (ie. not commercial hoe Ellie) and the verses really are excellent.

It's catchy but it's nothing special. I'm still looking forward to hearing the album though.

I quite like this on first listen, it's got more flair and personality to it than Burn ever had and the production is quite cool too. I don't actually mind the repetition, if anything it makes it more infectious.

That's not to say this is what I really want from her though, I'm sure it'll be huge and put the nail in the coffin to the girl that sang Anything Could Happen & My Blood, but that still kinda saddens me a bit </3

It seems the fans of LMYD aren't liking her new one that much, and while I'm also a big fan I hope to like the new one too when I stream it 2nite

I am warming mire to it after fifth listen just shame she was gone a but more pop than last album as i tbought going indie/electro pop was working for her and made her unique. Even the lyrics style has changed in this song. Like usually I like how mysterious her lyrics are.

On the whole its good and could grow even more.

The second time it came on the radio I was fully sold.

Damn, this and "Powerful" on the U.S. charts? I'm gonna be on Ellie overload pretty soon!
