September 7, 20159 yr But she should expect that. She was in their position at most parts of her early career. The only difference being that we now have social media as opposed to just reading newspaper articles or whatever.
September 7, 20159 yr I can't see what's so bad about a mother turning 36 tomorrow with a career of over 15 years of pouring her heart and soul into music that's personal to not only herself but many others voicing disappointment about seeing a bunch of mediocre artists performing style over substance with the most basic crowd pleasing music and not having the energy to enter into a ridiculous feud with crybaby teenagers who don't like that she may have indirectly shaded their faves. If we now live in a time where you can't speak frankly without loons putting words into your mouth then I'm as dismayed as Pink appears to be. She could have called Demi and the others out directly and that would be asking for a feud but she didn't. She also stands by what she said so she's hardly backtracking. And her original comments related to the music, not the performances. As for forgetting about Demi's performance-maybe it just wasn't that impressive in Pink's eyes? I certainly haven't been completely wowed by it. Edited September 7, 20159 yr by T Boy
September 8, 20159 yr P!nk's a mother now, so she is obviously gonna have a totally different outlook on the world. Is she really going to want to have Willow growing up with role models like Miley or Nicki Minaj?
September 8, 20159 yr Even if she wasn't a mother, has Pink ever backtracked though  She's one tough cookie who will easily stand her ground if she wants. She is clearly just not bothered enough to argue with a bunch of hornied up teens with nothing but hormones and lots of time on their hands. Oh and a twitter account of course. Because starting an online feud and going against teenage fan boys/girls these days is the most pointless thing any self-respecting artist can do these days.
September 8, 20159 yr No. It's a bit like the Taylor and Nicki thing, misunderstanding and there's no harm done. Not the end of the world. I get where Pink is coming from but that's the industry nowadays, naturally Demi would perform a banger like Cool For The Summer at a show like this. Classy ballads are for the Grammys :kink:
September 8, 20159 yr And it doesn't really matter whether the industry has changed, Pink can still think it's gone to shit. I do.
September 9, 20159 yr She has the rights to voice her opinion (although she says shit, lots of her songs are not "inspiring" and there is room for "fun" pop in this world). But where I lose respect for her is that she can't take criticism and she reacts pretty badly to the fact people actually react to her opinion/shade. It was expected and she shouldn't act like this in the first place if she can't take it. Edited September 9, 20159 yr by Hayzayy
September 9, 20159 yr I'm more bothered about her obvious shade on Miley whose performances showcased LGBT acts.
September 9, 20159 yr I definitely agree with and get her point, it's the way she went about it that I don't agree with. "The rest" just seems really disrespectful and rude (to me at least), considering she's not supposed to "have an issue with any of them". I don't get her reply at all, when she was picked up on that comment that she indirectly shaded certain artists. She ended up naming over half of the performers as to who she liked, so of course people were gonna call her out on it, especially as she said "the rest". It's TWITTER & 2015! She knows how quickly the whole Nicki/Taylor thing escalated. I'm just disappointed in her tweets. She could have worded them better and got her opinion across successfully, this is P!NK, we know she's more than capable of doing so. And the naming of those artists and then saying "she has no issue with any one" when she clearly does or whatever... I don't get it  I don't care that she didn't remember Demi's performance, that was just me saying I don't see how that performance can be seen as forgettable, personally. But hey, that's her opinion, that's not the part I have an issue with (believe it or not )
September 9, 20159 yr If she had an issue she would state as such but she didn't. Her issue is not with the artists themselves but with the state of the music business in general. The problem is people are so quick to throw words into her mouth because they love a good Twitter war. Pink started out in a different time and probably wasn't expecting this and it leads to her being further disappointed.

As it's been said, she did name like half of the acts as being good, and then slagged "the rest" off. It's not like there were 50 performers on the show, "the rest" can't be anyone else than Miley/Demi/Nicki.

It's not like there were 50 performers on the show, "the rest" can't be anyone else than Miley/Demi/Nicki. And so what? She made it clear enough that her issue was with the music content. And really it isn't something immature fans should be starting to create a feud over and Demi shouldn't be encouraging them to do so. I feel that a few people are overanalysing what she said because it slightly shades their faves.

She's like "I can voice my opinion" but the minute people start to voice their opinion she's like "oh shut up and don't comment". Quite hypocrytical.
September 11, 20159 yr Author Pink talks a bit more about the whole VMA thing in this video... https://www.facebook.com/operationpinkies/v...e=3&theater

Some twitterers weren't just voicing there opinion though. I read one tweet saying something along the lines of that she should rip off her old skin, tie it around her neck and hang herself! I think she's all for people sharing an opinion, but the way some people go about it is all wrong, like she said its like people are looking for a fight. Watch the video I posted, she explains herself a bit more extending on what she says on twitter. sometimes 140 characters aren't enough :)
