Tomorrow sees 30 years of the Children's BBC, aka CBBC and they are celebrating with a special programme, 'Hacker's Birthday Bash: 30 Years of Children's BBC' at 6:00pm on the CBBC Channel. The special body of programming has been the home of many popular shows, such as Blue Peter, Newsround, Grange Hill, Byker Grove, The Story of Tracy Beaker, Horrible Histories and The Sarah Jane Adventures amongst many, many others. Throughout it's history, it has also helped the careers of Phillip Schofield, Ant & Dec, Fearne Cotton, Dick & Dom and Reggie Yates amongst a number of others too.

What are your memories of CBBC? Was it always on after you got back from school? Did you get up early on weekends to catch live TV such as Live & Kicking or Dick & Dom in the Bungalow?

Watching Tracy Beaker on CBBC was a must when I was younger, as well as The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Don't really watch it much at all now, besides Wizards vs Aliens (when it was still airing) and Wolfblood - both are great shows!

I remember when CBBC was on BBC 1 #old

I used to watch CBBC all the time when I was younger  So many fantastic shows, just to name a few of my faves:

- 50/50 (always wanted to go on this :kink:)

- Arthur

- ChuckleVision

- Jeopardy (anyone remember this? It terrified me as a kid but I loved it )

- Mona the Vampire

- Raven

- The Basil Brush Show

- The Sarah Jane Adventures

- The Story of Tracy Beaker

Not forgetting all four S Club TV shows

I always really wanted to go on 50/50 too! Although knowing my luck, I would end up not even getting picked for a challenge

I LOVED 'Jeopardy', such a good drama and a great use of the found footage for children's TV. I still want to know what really happened at the end.

I was very much a CBBC child, basically watching every show on there haha. Raven, Tracy Beaker, Arthur, Grange Hill and of course The Sarah Jane Adventures were particular favourites but I really did love basically everything. :kink:

Saturday mornings were particularly great with Dick n Dom in da Bungalow as well as stuff like Smile & The Saturday Show. Kids these days are missing out on live Saturday morning TV.

Goosebumps, Out Of Tune, To Me To You

Anyone else remember these?

How can anyone forget that one? (the books were better tho obvs)

So who were YOUR Blue Peter presenters?

My main 4 must have been Katy Hill, Konnie Huq, Simon Thomas and Matt Baker.

I do also have memories of Liz Barker, Stuart Miles and Richard Bacon though!

Mine would be Konnie/Simon/Matt/Liz and throw in Zoë and Gethin at the end too.

Yessss mine too

My parents tried to learn me the English language by watching BBC programmes a lot. My favorite CBBC programmes were Live&Kicking, The Saturday Show, kerching!, TOTP Saturday, Tracy Beaker and Smile! . In summer there always was XChange I loved that show . I think my 1st CBBC show was Playbus at least that's what I remember.
Ooh and of course all the S Club 7/8 shows which were brilliant. 2 shows which annoyed me were Chucklevision and Dick&Dom in the bungalow.

The Saturday Show, Get Your Own Back (my childhood really was the height of the 'gunge tank' motif of kids TV) 50/50, Basil Brush, Tracy Beaker, The Worst Witch, The Demon Headmaster, Mona The Vampire, Arthur, Watch My Chops, Stupid and Best of Friends (that one where a group of friends decided who would get treats and do tasks by sucking sweets that made their tongue blue) were childhood faves of mine.

Horrible Histories and Sorry I've Got No Head were ones I watched sporadically once I got too old for CBBC.

Best of Friends!!! Can't believe I forgot that one, one of my favourites for sure  Get Your Own Back was lots of fun too, always enjoyed it!

With CBBC, it was all about Tracey Beaker! I used to live for that show when I was a kid. They used to make some great game shows too, as already mentioned, like 50/50 and Get Your Own Back.

Mine would be Konnie/Simon/Matt/Liz and throw in Zoë and Gethin at the end too.

'My' Blue Peter presenters too!

Trapped was one of my favourites too.

All I remember about Raven is the sheer disappointment in their eyes when they stepped off the line on the obstacle course at the end and just vanished into thin air. (U)
