Crowded House back in the top 40. There's a blast from the past.

So "Hourglass" by Disclosure is just about the best thing they've released so far (bar maybe "White Noise" before I overplayed it) - the instrumental after the chorus is just incredible.

 

Intrigued to see Stormzy of all people in the top 3, will have to go check it out. I'd imagine that as it's a two-track single, the second song will be combined with it (which can only help it's chart position).

No, it won't be combined, if someone downloads the track separately, it will chart on it's own. Only the full EP download will be combined with the title track.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the Rhodes + Birdy single is? When it was premiered on Radio 1 the version they played had Rhodes singing most of the first verse. But the version in the music video is more Birdy heavy. Also the international iTunes release is credited to Birdy + Rhodes rather than the other way round.

 

Now it's been released in the UK, on Apple Music it says Birdy + Rhodes but on iTunes it says Rhodes + Birdy and it seems like both versions are the Birdy heavy version. It's like Rhodes has been made a featured artist on his own record! I just don't get it...

I'd guess the vast majority of the sales for the Kylie track are people downloading the 3 track EP rather than specifically the track. (A lot of the sales for 'WickedSkengMan 4' will similarly be sales of the 2 track single, but enough people are specifically cherrypicking the second track for it to also be in the top 30 of its own accord which is pretty impressive).

The 2 track EP is the same price as buying both songs separately so I wouldn't be surprised if fans are being encouraged to buy both separately as to get both in the charts
