She is best known for her 2015 single "Fight Song", which has reached number 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart for 3 weeks, number 5 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, number 3 on the Billboard digital singles chart (and #1 on the iTunes digital singles chart, where it was the best selling single in the USA for the week ending July 4, 2015), number 6 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart, number 8 on their Pop Songs chart, and number 11 on Billboard's Songs of The Summer chart. It also reached number 2 on the Australian Singles Chart, number 8 in New Zealand, number 9 on the Billboard Canadian chart, and number 5 on the Billboard Canadian digital sales chart. It has also reached platinum sales in the US, selling over a million copies in her native land. Platten's 2015 "Fight Song" EP reached number 20 on Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. I like Fight Song, but Stand By You is just epic.

Looks like the bottom end of the top 10 is really pretty good at the moment.

 

And yes, I'm including a song that has Chris Brown on it in that. That feels strange.

Really liked the Naughty Boy song on first listen! [/late] Hope it can climb into the top 10, it is still top 5 on iTunes so hopefully it can pick up on streaming.

'Stand By You' is about 100 times better than 'Fight Song'. So so good.

Biography

Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born 30 December 1986) is an English singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Lyonshall, Herefordshire. Her career began when she met record producer Starsmith and Frankmusik, and she was later spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who later became her manager and A&R. After signing to Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year.

 

In 2010, she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK in December 2010 and on 29 April 2011 she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Buckingham Palace. The album's title track, "Lights", was released in the US in March 2011, and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

 

Goulding's second album Halcyon was released in October 2012, "Anything Could Happen" preceded the album as the lead single. Halcyon debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and, after 65 weeks, reached number one. Halcyon debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 Chart, her first top ten debut in the United States. Halcyon Days, a repackaged edition of Halcyon, was released on 23 August 2013, it included new singles including "Burn", which became her first UK number-one single in the same month. I quite like On My Mind, but a lot of her other songs (and Don't) were better.

'On My Mind' was pretty instant for me, it's really catchy I think :wub:

Don't Be So Hard On Yourself is amazing, even more by the fact that instead of being a senseless song like Rather Be, My Love, Real Love and Hold My Hand (nothing against them, they're all great too) this is really inspirational.
