I don't hear that, to me it sounds like it's been modeled around the Jack U/Bieber track.

I agree with you, especially with the drop. I can also hear influence from songs like Heartbroken and What's It Gonna Be too.

Some of his previous songs have had a garage vibe to them as well - in particular Wrote A Song About You.

Pia Mia finally out! I listen to R1 in work for 7 hours and I hear it at least twice maybe even three times every day lol.

Very happy to see Tiring Game out also. Sick of hearing it aswell as Downtown.

Surprised to see Sigma there as the release has been and gone. Was hoping for another single before the album, but happy for the add nonetheless

Yeah this is a weird decision - it's not OAOS. It has 2 or 3 months buildup and still bombed.

Can appreciate Tiring Game gets annoying but I am so shocked how badly that's done on the charts because it sounded like an absolute smash.

Maybe too late but I was hoping Raurys pre album single release would hit the A List.

It's just another casualty of OA/OS, would have done much better as a held back release.

I agree, but surprised it didn't recover better than it has since it was A-listed

I like the Pia Mia song but I agree it has been so overplayed the last few weeks. Downtown seems to be played every 5 minutes as well.

So glad to see the back of Hotline Bling. can't stand it

Sia out is bizarre and Sigma in who have already flopped with this....

Happy for MNEK and WSTRN

Cant be doing with KDA really, mainly because of Tinie Tempah who is now just so dated.

I don't get why everyone's saying the Sigma single has flopped. It wasn't held back, it seems to me like a special case of OA/OS, i.e. released at the end of August but for whatever reason, radio are only just picking it up now. Which is the exact same situation as MNEK/Zara, which was released at the end of July but it took radio until a couple of months later to start playing it, and now it's doing decently. So isn't it a bit early to be saying 'Redemption' has flopped? Or have I got this completely wrong?

Actually I don't get either why people say it's flopped already, but there is a correction, it wasn't released at the end of August, it was released (in the UK) 2nd October.

Really? I was going by the date it was added to Spotify. If that's the case then it's proper OA/OS, and that's even less of a reason to label it a flop already!

'Redemption' wasn't OA/OS though, it was held back for over a month. Released to YouTube 24/08, released to iTunes 02/10.

It's fair to say the song is flopping.

But the difference is that unlike traditional held back releases, it wasn't being played on the radio, therefore not many people would have got to hear it until now (only those who would have bothered to go to the effort of watching it on youtube), that's my point. Therefore is it really fair to label it a flop just yet? Surely we need to give it a chance to gain some airplay first and then see if it climbs the charts?

huzzah for the additions of sigma + WSTRN :cheer: ~ great to see KDA + MNEK moving up the tiers!

By that logic anything that doesn't get playlisted on Radio 1 cannot be called a flop.

Radio 1 is not the be all and end all. The song has been out there for 2 months and it's failed to pick up any momentum anywhere, and when it was finally released it sold nothing. Unlike the MNEK record you mention, that has managed to sell steadily even without radio support. Them playlisting that now is the right decision. The Sigma record is a turkey.

It's very rare that a song will sell much without radio support  Besides, MNEK/Zara have been played on Kiss for weeks now. It's ridiculous to say the Sigma song flopped before it got any support. Its release strategy was very odd but clearly its impact date is still to come.
I'd be shocked if it made the top 40 but we can't jump the gun, stranger things have happened :P
The Sigma track premiered on Annie Mac as a Hottest Record in August and wasn't released on iTunes until recently enough there.
