October 15, 201511 yr It's just another casualty of OA/OS, would have done much better as a held back release. As well as the big return Come and Get it? It was held back but only peaked at no5 and was in the top 40 for only 5 weeks which is poor in this day and age. I think his new single would have peaked between 5-15 with a held back release and stayed in the top 40 for a similar amount of time. Fact is the top 40 is a list of popular tracks and popular artists. His current OAOS position on iTunes with it rising near the top 30 symbolises Mr Newmans current popularity which is a decreasing one. And the track (which I love btw) isn't resonating with the general public. Edited October 15, 201511 yr by steve201
October 15, 201511 yr I have a feeling it'll be treated like an OA/OS release, it doubt it's even been 'sent' to radio officially for want of a better phrase. I think they'll playlist it once it's release (I hope I'm right there.). Regarding 'Redemption', it's release strategy sounds strangely similar to Paramore's 'Now' a couple of years back. Released to Youtube (and put up for pre-order) a month or two before release, but not actually playlisted until its actual release! ('Now' was released on 25/02/15 and its first week of playlisting (straight to B List in fact) was that week. Sigma definitely haven't flopped yet, it's just being treated as OA/OS, it's important to remember the 'air' part of OA/OS. :P

October 18, 201510 yr So depressing to see Samantha Mumba there. She never released a follow-up album because I'm Right Here "only" made #5. :(
October 18, 201510 yr So depressing to see Samantha Mumba there. She never released a follow-up album because I'm Right Here "only" made #5. :( I remember some years ago she had some cool stuff on Myspace and she was gonna release it. Shame it never materialized.
October 18, 201510 yr Wow The Earthshaker & Tiny Disco Balls - loved them at the time!! Loved Blak Twang, so underrated back then!

I agree his popularity it slipping but a top 15 hit would've been a better result than it got, so probably fair to call it an OAOS casualty.
October 18, 201510 yr A here today gone tomorrow top 15 hit isn't likely to do much apart from getting a hyped top 20 single!
October 18, 201510 yr Would love to see the Retro Playlist become a regular feature, especially playlists from the 2000ss From that 2002 list, Dilemma and Like I Love You are two of my favourite songs ever. Being a 7 year old at the time, I definitely remember songs like Nu Flow, One Love, What's Your Flava?, Complicated, Just Like A Pill, Heaven & Dirrty being played a lot. Grown to really like Gangsta Lovin' and So Rotten too.
October 18, 201510 yr There's so many great tracks from that retro playlist, most of which I've not heard in years! Even that U2 track was brilliant!
October 18, 201510 yr Complicated on that retro playlist    Still one of my favourite ever songs
October 19, 201510 yr I just heard Gangsta Lovin' on the radio the other day, never properly appreciated it until now!
October 19, 201510 yr Put The Needle On It and Down Boy are probably still my favs from the retro playlist. Oddly enough, "Try" by Ian Van Dahl went from my least favorite of their singles (from 1st album) to my fav. I liked it then but I love it now.
