Biography

One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) are an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. Previously, Zayn Malik was a member until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction's four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014) topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", "Story of My Life" and "Steal My Girl".

Their achievements include five Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, eleven MTV Europe Music Awards, and nineteen Teen Choice Awards out of nineteen nominations, among many others. According to Nick Gatfield, the chairman and chief executive of Sony Music Entertainment UK, One Direction represented a $50 million business empire by June 2012. They were proclaimed 2012's "Top New Artist" by Billboard. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, by April 2013, they had an estimated personal combined wealth of £25 million ($41.2m) making them the second-wealthiest musicians in the UK under 30 years of age. In 2014, Forbes listed them the second-highest earning celebrities under 30, with the group earning an estimated $75 million from June 2013 to June 2014.

After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the U.S. Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one. Their third album, Midnight Memories, was the biggest-selling album worldwide of 2013 despite being released in late November. In 2014, Billboard named One Direction Artist of the Year - Wikipedia

Sir Tinie Tempah gets his eighth UK #1 *.* :bounce:

Queen Katy B gets her first EVER UK #1 Single *.* :jameela:

Turn The Music Louder (Rumble) such a jammm :music:

KDA #1 :cheer:

1D track isn't bad either but I think I like Drag Me Down more.

Wish 1D were #1 as their song is so much better than Turn the Music Louder (Rumble) but #2 is a fantastic result regardless and it wasn't unexpected!
While I prefer Perfect to Turn The Music Louder (Rumble), I'm glad the latter is number one because Katy B definitely deserves a number one after the phenomenal Crying For No Reason.
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :yahoo: :w00t: :yahoo:

Poor One Direction, their 14th Top 10 hit and real chances to hit #1 with their 2nd single

Stay pressed. B-)

'turn the music louder (rumble)' ~ a brilliant #1//~sick~ bop :music:
DELIGHTED to see KDA win out, though I assumed they would (although not at the start of the week) but it's so good and I'm secretly quite glad to see non-OA/OS win out this time.

Biography

Justin Drew Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/; born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, first discovered him through his YouTube videos in 2007. Braun, as noted, was impressed with the videos resulting in contacting Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette, about wanting to work with his musical abilities. Moreover, him having convinced his mother, Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with singer-songwriter, Usher, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bieber was signed to RBMG, a record label based in Atlanta, then to Island Records -- part of Def Jam Records -- with a recording contract offered by a prominent record executive, L.A. Reid.

He released his debut EP, My World, in November 2009. It has been certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, in March 2010. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the single, "Baby", which is also, as of July 2014, the YouTube video with the most dislikes, and the most views on a Vevo platform. He followed up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix album titled, My Worlds Acoustic, and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Bieber released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012.

He has received numerous industry awards, including both Artist of the Year Awards at the 2010 American Music Awards, and the 2012 American Music Awards. He has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. With his growing national and international fan base, they have been dubbed "beliebers" who largely consist of early to mid-adolescent women. He has millions of "followers" on Twitter and other social media accounts. He has been listed three times by Forbes magazine as one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world in 2011, 2012, and 2013. - Wikipedia

Biography

When the U.K. press began dubbing Adele "the next Amy Winehouse" in late 2007, the hype didn't touch upon the heavy singer/songwriter influence found in the Londoner's music. Influenced by Roberta Flack and Suzanne Vega as much as Jill Scott, Adele soon became a phenomenon in her own right; her second album 21 eventually sold an estimated 30 million copies worldwide, making her one of the few sales successes in an age of digital streaming. Adele first made an impression in 2006 when her demo landed her a deal with XL Recordings. She toured as an opening act for Jack Penate, and graduated to headlining status by the end of 2007, thanks to BBC Radio 1 playing her single "Daydreamer"; another song, "Hometown Glory," was also released as a single on Jamie T.'s label, Pacemaker. An appearance alongside Paul McCartney and Björk on the BBC 2 television show Later with Jools Holland came next, and a recording contract with XL Recordings was finalized soon after. Early 2008 brought similar luck as Adele found herself atop the BBC's new music talent list, which was compiled from the votes of 150 music critics. That same January, XL issued a new single, "Chasing Pavements," along with her debut album, 19. The title reflected Adele's age at the time of the album's release, and its popularity resulted in the release of several bonus editions throughout the year. Also in 2009, Adele won Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Her sophomore album, 21, featuring the gospel and disco-infused single "Rolling in the Deep," was released in February of 2011. The album proved to be both a critical and commercial success, becoming one of the longest-running number one albums in history and spending over 18 weeks at the top spot. The glow of 21's success was dimmed somewhat when Adele was forced to cancel her tour after suffering a hemorrhage on her vocal chords. She underwent surgery for the hemorrhage in November of 2011. That same month, she released the concert CD/DVD Live at the Royal Albert Hall. Both Adele and 21 received many end-of-year honors, and in February 2012, as album sales began to creep closer to ten million copies, she won six major Grammy awards, one of the few artists in history to accomplish the feat in one night. In October 2012, Adele announced that she had recorded the theme to the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall. Produced by Paul Epworth and recorded at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios, the single entered the Top 10 of both the U.K. singles chart and the Billboard Hot 100 on release. By early 2013, 21 had registered sales of over 25 million copies. Although Adele promised she was in the early stages of creating her third album, 2013 and 2014 came and went without fresh material. - Wikipedia

Biography

A teen pop artist who broke records with his debut single, singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After posting a series of his cover versions to various video-sharing sites, Mendes earned himself a dedicated following of viewers. His mix of Ed Sheeran's style and Justin Bieber's also appealed to Island Records, who signed Mendes in 2014. That same year they released the then-15-year-old's debut single "Life of the Party." American radio initially ignored it, but the track entered the Billboard 100 singles chart at number 24, making Mendes the youngest artist to land a debut single in the Top 25. The song was also included on Mendes' four-track Island debut, The Shawn Mendes EP. The EP performed very well, reaching number five on the Billboard charts on its way toward sales of over 100,000, setting the stage for his full-length debut, Handwritten, in the spring of 2015. Preceded by the single "Something Big," Handwritten appeared to strong sales, debuting at number one in both Canada and the U.S. In 2015, his single "Believe" landed on the soundtrack for the Disney Channel fantasy musical Descendants. - iTunes

Not really feeling 'Perfect', it's kinda dull especially following 'Drag Me Down' which is one of my favourite songs by them now and I'm surprisingly liking that KDA track so great result this week! Poor Ben though really didn't deserve to be that low. It's quite a good song imo but of course he will get a mixed reaction cause of his voice etc...

YASSSS at 'Wildest Dreams' sneaking in the bottom of the top 40 too. Such a beauty of a song  would love it to climb a few places next week but if it doesn't then I'll be fine with a #40 peak :)
