Nqrse - LUVORATORRRRRY! Easy 18, because it stands so far above everything else in this final for me. Nothing else is quite as fun, or addicting. I think my recent anime delving has made me very susceptible to Japanese voices because that's definitely a part of this, but even elsewise it's very cool. Plus with that title I thought it might just be a mess but what I didn't expect it to be was a musically excellent mess. Thank you for the discovery, popchartfreak, you're on fire lately. I know we don't do such weird things winning, but seriously, that would make my life if it happened that way. 15 ∞ Altyr Muunilinst - OMFG - Ice Cream Haters, I can listen to this on repeat and never get bored of it, it's a huge bop from start to finish. I was already a bit into OMFG's music but I was stuck on 'Hello' rather than the rest, and this might actually be better. So weird and yet so right. I hope this can be a 'shock' hit (I wouldn't be too shocked to see it even higher than I predicted actually). Altyr is back in business with me <3 13 ∞ Taahino - We The Kings - I Like It Well this is very Fall Out Boy. And it'd be right up there with most of their stuff if it were by them, the verses are worth living for, the chorus is big, and aah, I just love a bit of pop-punk getting into the final. Séyehino continues *.* (at least from my side) 12 ∞ The Actual Republic Of Bellamia - The Ready Set - Freakin' Me Out I'm not sure I actually expected to like this. I thought it might be the sort of pop-rock I found a bit whiny when Joseph first showed it to me (yes I can be discerning when that genre is concerned sometimes). But then in the contest it really grew on me to be one of the highlights and damn, if that chorus isn't just a bit fantastic. Loving this Bellamia at the moment. 11 ∞ Tinnmark - Hellberg feat. Cozi Zuehlsdorff - The Girl Dance for me, is a love or hate genre. And that's because a lot of the time it's not about breakdowns or beats or any of the standard dance stuff for me (though instrumentation remains pretty important if the riff is noticeably standout), it's the lyrics. And they vary wildly in quality over dance songs, if a song is just one or two lyrics repeating over a beat, I'm unlikely to like it. Admittedly dance songs have never been going for complicated lyrics, but that's why this works. It means that one form of the perfect dance song has a few powerful lyrics that get enhanced by the music into something that feels really epic. That sweet spot is this song. Perhaps a bit unoriginal on the dance production bits but 'the girl that time forgot'... I'll remember that, and I'll love it. 10 ∞ Kluminican Republic - Truls - Circles Well go on then Klum. I shall start up a support group with Oliver. Actually, when I first discovered this 2 months ago I played it so much because I was sure it was going to be my BJSC winner. Then 4 days into confirming it, it had barely gotten through the veto (so I felt slightly guilty, that's my curse of being a GM and being able to see this stuff), I had fears it would somehow DNQ (yeah lol) and I suddenly wasn't feeling it as much anymore, plus the allure of the Far East was calling me. It's still bloody incredible, so I would not be against it winning and well, you've been going longer than me for a win so I support this all the way. *gets overhauled by Aeroche* 09 ∞ Trifoski - San Fermin - Jackrabbit Another former potential, and the rare sight of a Séyetan act being recycled <3 I'm very pleased Jackrabbit has gone some way to easing the loss of Sonsick all those contests ago, it's nowhere near as incredible but that's no slight on it, Sonsick was just that good. Hope that agenda can get this out of the bottom 10, it does not deserve to be that low. RUN FOR THE HILLS RUN FOR THE HILLS RUN 08 ∞ Aeroche - Shaun Frank & KSHMR - Heaven (feat. Delaney Jane) I surprised myself by how much I like this. Particularly as I never got into Jammu. But it has that classic Aeroche sound, you know the one, the one where it sounds exactly like a winner. And I'm on board with it this time (which is now about half the time I guess) Those lyrics and the colourful instrumental progression is pretty lush too <3 Go take some crowns, you've got me again ketalina. 07 ∞ Botanikka - IAMX - Happiness Well this is a bit straight out of left-field. If this final wasn't so strong I'd want to be giving this a bit more because of how captivated it keeps you and how weird the song is. I'm cool with more songs like this turning up (that's a hint for Halloween confirmers) 06 ∞ Dobago - Koo - Sail Away Pleasingly weird. If I'd had been in semi 2 I wouldn't have said this was a shock qualifier, it's pretty great. 05 ∞ Oslol - Clairity - Velcro I was initially concerned I was only liking this because of the prominent sample. That led to it being pushed out of my votes in the semi. But this girl has a really nice sense of rhythmic singing outside of that and that won me round again. It's a cool song. 04 ∞ Florina - Grace Mitchell - Your Design Has a few really epic dives in it ('now the earth is moving too slow'), making it just a bit better than the other Grace Mitchell song. She's clearly a cut above the standard indie-pop artists either way. 03 ∞ Cumulonimbia - Young Fathers - Get Up I hadn't bothered to take much of a listen to Young Fathers before this, I've been clearly missing out on at least one interesting song as this is a pretty great indie-rock song. 02 ∞ Tartford - Son Lux - You Don't Know Me I hope this does well because I definitely thought it could be a shock top 10 and I don't want to be proved completely wrong. It has some excellent instrumentation on it. 01 ∞ Joedonia - Lost Kings feat. Jessame - Bad I support this, it's a good song. Didn't take you too long to get on my points table Joe.
