February 19, 20169 yr That would be another nail (or two) in the coffin of the FA Cup. It was bad enough when the police effectively forced the FA to have a limit of one replay by insisting on a ten day gap between the original match and the replay. If they really want to reduce the number of fixtures, there are better ways of doing that. Scrapping the League Cup would make far more sense. Limiting ties to one replay makes sense - replays are part of the magic of the FA Cup but limiting it to one means that fixtures don't pile up but the smaller team will still always get a lucrative away tie. These proposals are dangerous and won't really help enhance the national team or how our teams do in Europe. The Premier League is too powerful and too competitive, reforming it somehow is the only way to achieve those objectives.
February 19, 20169 yr I have no idea why Van Gaal is getting so much stick. Sacking him is the least of the problems. The whole club is in uproar, honestly it's shades so much of Liverpool post 1990. The players cannot handle the weight of expectation, and the fans expect success. It's a long and painful process. The club still thinks it can compete with the big boys. Honestly, until the hireachy accepts that you're not a top club currently, the whole club will really struggle. Instead of trying to sign Bale, Neymar and Muller, the execs should shrowd themselves in reality. Mourinho might be a stop gap, but he will implode the dressing room eventually. I don't think they will sack Van Gaael if they lose on Monday for the record.
February 19, 20169 yr United are hardly going to accept they're not part of England's best clubs anymore... I do agree they look set for Liverpool-style mediocrity though. Fantastic news. West Ham taking 7200 fans to Blackburn on Sunday lunchtime... hope our huge support is celebrating come the end!
February 19, 20169 yr West Ham taking 7200 fans to Blackburn on Sunday lunchtime... hope our huge support is celebrating come the end! Brilliant support that. Are you going mate?
February 19, 20169 yr Author How do you see tomorrow's matches going? I can see Arsenal, West Ham, Everton and Watford all progressing although I wouldn't rule out Bournemouth.
February 19, 20169 yr Brilliant support that. Are you going mate? Especially since it's Sunday lunchtime and on TV! I've been to Blackburn before and it's not the most accessible ground in the country. I'm not going sadly, I'll be watching BT Sport instead. :(
February 20, 20169 yr How do you see tomorrow's matches going? I can see Arsenal, West Ham, Everton and Watford all progressing although I wouldn't rule out Bournemouth. I think Arsenal, Reading, Everton and Watford will go through. I've also got a strong feeling that Chelsea will knock Manchester City out as well.
February 20, 20169 yr Author Shame that Reading beating West Brom has been slightly marred by West Brom's Chris Brunt having a coin thrown at him by one of his own supporters. Good draw indeed for Hull City there and a solid win for Watford and Everton.
February 20, 20169 yr United are hardly going to accept they're not part of England's best clubs anymore... I do agree they look set for Liverpool-style mediocrity though. Fantastic news. West Ham taking 7200 fans to Blackburn on Sunday lunchtime... hope our huge support is celebrating come the end! They are still a top club in England, just like Liverpool are. But worldwide they're not - they don't have that pull at the moment anymore. The irony of West Brom getting outdone on set pieces today
February 21, 20169 yr Dimitri Payet recently signed a new contract worth 125k a week, the highest in West Ham's history... Free-kicks like that are the reason why! :cheer:
February 21, 20169 yr Author Sixth Round Draw Everton v Chelsea Reading v Crystal Palace Arsenal/Hull City v Watford Shrewsbury/Man United v West Ham
February 21, 20169 yr I don't think Man United will fancy playing West Ham in a one-cup tie at all... Depending on the authorities and police, we could take another 7000 fans away to Old Trafford. Although tickets wouldn't be as plentiful at Shrewsbury. ;)
February 23, 20169 yr A good performance and 3-0 win for Man United. If we can do that 3 more times it would be much appreciated ;)
March 11, 20169 yr Crystal Palace are into the semi-finals after beating Reading 2-0 tonight. Whoever plays Palace in the semis will definitely be in the final this season.
March 12, 20169 yr Chelsea out of 2 competitions within 4 days! I really think it could be a West Ham vs Everton final this year...
March 12, 20169 yr Author Great individual performance from Lukaku there. Everton deserved to win. Stupid behaviour from Diego Costa as usual. He appeared to bite Barry and make a gesture to the Everton fans and also get sent off.
March 12, 20169 yr Lukaku's first goal was class! before that it was a boring game with hardly any chances for either side. Chelsea's season is over now, I really thought that they would win the FA Cup this season.
